Hello all.
My last post on this forum was long long time ago... :-)

Take a look at my new project (first prebeta shots). Screens don't show some dynamic aspects of this map.
eg.
I've discovered trick which looks like simple env.mapping
But u can see this only in motion.

Wonderful.

The atmosphere seems to be great. Especially if the lights are gonna be dynamic...which they seem to be. Amazing. :)

Wow... that looks amazingly good. I tried a Kamino level once... basically just a test of my "wave motion" system. But it looked like crap.

Very atmospheric...captures that authentic brooding star wars feel that's missing from 90 percent of games. This is one of the few times I've been sincerely suprised at what someone has managed to do with the jk engine. Good to see you make a comeback Ortheza!

Sweet... the atmosphere is spot on. Two questions: how'd you do the rain, and how did you do the skybox?

From what I can tell, the rain seems to be a techinique I've used before. Translucent 3do sprites shot from ghosts at various locations. I notice they can reduce the framerate a decent bit (From the looks of it, halving it at one point. (I'm comparing a high framerate on one of the shots to what seems to be the low)) Do the waves move? A transparent moving 3do would create a nice wave effect, if they don't.

I've got to say...

I'm on the SotD bandwagon :D - as simple as they may be, I love the first, penultimate and final screenies :eek: - especially the rain. Maybe it's that British thing in me, but despite being used to it, it just looks great in game!! :D

Just my two humble pennies worth :)

My rain cog is modified version of cog downloaded from massassi. I don't know who wrote it.

There is a trick that prevents fps dropping to low.

Weaves are 3d and moving. To better effect i'll use animated textures. (currently waves have static mats)

oh my god... this is awesome.. I honestly had ALOT of trouble figuring out what was going on here... it looked like JO, then I saw the JK hud and bryar.. then I read it was JO to JA... and I was like.. HUH!? but now I see it is for JK.. and it looks amazing.

If the waves touch the pad at the bottom, you should throw in some splash sprites...nothing big, just a few to add to the realism. Feel free to ignore me.
