Though you might wanna texture it before you start duplicating and rotating the new segments into a circle.

yeah, but ti don't take too long to rotate... also, in all fairness, I maed this in JED and just am viewing it through milkshape.. so I can get the nice shading in the shots :)

You'll get most of the same problems you had before rotating that in JED. Make the section a 3do, not the whole thing one big 3do.

all rotating will be done with the 3dos, infact.. each level of each section is a different 3do also

(also I had adjoin problems before.. so since there are no adjoins it would be impossible to get the SAME errors.. I still would get some errors, just not the same ones ;) )

make sure u delete any faces that arent visible (more efficient), and leave no vertex resting upon the edge of a face, comes up with nasty see through lines.

You know what I mean.

now, if I make the 3dos larger, and they work ingame, but if I step on certain areas, and I fall through, where i did not before the resize.. what does that mean? should I cut out those parts and make them into completely different 3dos? it's flagged as walk struct.

If you scaled the 3do without recreating the template, the bounding box will be too small.

And why doesn't that 3do wall curve?

thanks, that was the problem.. i was thinkingt aht might have been what it was, because there was a definite line where the surfaces became "fall through able"... but i checked in JED by turning the 3dos into boxes, and they were the proper size (i always envisioned those boxes being the bounding box.. i guess I was wrong for the past 7 years... i am so embarassed.

It would take another 3 months to texture all of those surfaces with lighting :p
But seriously it looks good. If this was MP, I'd like to see some synched AI like monsters in the arena. Kinda like gladiator, that would be sweet.

While convenient, I wonder if the actual Colosseum consists entirely of identical segments... but of course it would save any mapper quite a bit of bother and time to do that rather than individually construct all the hallways and corridors and lower levels.

None the less, looks very good. Carry on!

it is pretty much identical (there are actually 2 segments.. for the top... which is why I am placing every other one in the pictures...) I will do the staircases and other small alterations with seperate 3dos.

But u do realise, if u want it textured, you're gonna have to retexture it in milkshape, and then redo in JED :p


also, i found that when u edit a 3do for a template, you have to rename the new template, otherwise it uses the old 3do. :(

maybe thats my JED being Ghey tho.
