I do have one question though: have you studied diagrams/pictures of the real Colosseum? I just ask because everything looks right except those stairs, which seem slightly out of place to me. I don't really know what they should look like, because I've never seen pictures inside the Colosseum before, and obviously there must be SOME way to get to the upper levels. I'm just wondering how much research you've done on this. Could you post a diagram of the level and a comparison with a reference? Still looks great. ;)

I have several pictures of the exterior and the interior of the colosseum, but the stairs are BEST guess taken from these pictures.. they are all in the right places (laterally) - side shots, and you can see SOME of them in these pictures..

The colloseum is actually better designed than most modern stadiums. Someone did computer simulations that indicate that, in the event of a fire, a packed house could empty in under five minutes. Probably has something to do with every arch on the bottom level being an exit. :)
Wikissassi sucks.

It's true that they have a lot of exits (and the only exits that can be taken advantage of are on the bottom floor), but they don't have that many stairs, and with no exterior fire escape or elevators, there would be massive crowding on the stairs, and many people would probably get trampled to death.

Of course there's not much risk of a fire in a stone structure like that.... not to shoot down the arguement or anything. :em321:
