What I like about Shred is that he doesn't really care what anyone says on his showcase threads. He posts only finalized models - I don't think he's going to do any changes on this one.

Well, I do admire it, but this time he should seriously look into it, because, I'm sorry to be so bold about it, its a poor model. There is about nothing right about it, except that it "looks like a human."

She looks nothing like Jan Ors face-wise, and the breastage is so off it hurts the eyes. If my girlfriend sagged like that, it would make me cry everytime I removed her shirt.

Shred reads all the comments on his threads.... whether or not he agrees with them is up to him. He values the community's opinions, but this is his work, and he will ultimately do as he so pleases. Fortunately, if someone doesn't like the final product, they have the opportunity to make there own Jan.

As for my opinion, it doesn't look like Jan... it's really just the face. It looks like some other half-asian chick who's wearing an excellent Jan costume.

How can you like this? I think this is a very poor behaviour for an editor. I mean, his stuff is meant to be played by the community, so he'd better make sure the community likes it.
Of course, I think you are completely wrong by judging Shred like that.

Shred is used to the crits that follow modeling something after something else that exists. *coughdbzmodelscough* ;)

After not seeing a resemblance of Jan Ors in a long time (aside from the ewww JK one), I'd have to say, the most recent shot hits it on the head. :)

It looks better than the JO Model (for the most part), but there's just something about the eyes that creeps me out. its almost like you ripped them off a badly-drawn cartoon character or something.

Jan looks sleepy. Her face isn't Asian enough. Reference:

Also, in the latest shot, the Jan's torso doesn't seem to be scale to her head. The torso is too small.

It was either Spook or Monoxide who said to me that if I make negative comments about playing JK MP now, I must be playing games with high poly boobies in a super state graphics engine. In that case, I guess JK can't have high poly boobies?

She does have something of a monkey, though. I think it's because here nose is too short, leaving a big space between the nose and her upper lip.

I think she looks fine. Some people have too high of standards. The original Jan was just too blocky, with triangle feet

Those were the standards of 1997 gaming. Today, realistic and life-like models are possible.... and as we all know, if anyone here is capable of achieving such a level of greatness, it's Shred.

I don't think we'd be so picky if we didn't think Shred could pull it off. Of course the model is better than the original.... but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. It's important for an artist to realize that no matter how high his caliber of greatness is, there's always room for improvement. I think Shred understands this.
