I prefer stills... for now. You'll get something moving when you get a trailer.

EDIT: Although I might post ^^ THAT ^^ shot by the end of the week or some time soon, on our forums.

the shadows on the star destroyers looks very off. there is a light source right behind them, yet the side of the planet they are on is dark.

Okay...

Stills aren't going to stir much excitement. Its like game mods only showcasing concept drawings and wallpapers. People really begin to care if you showed real content. I assume you can make hundreds of stills, but only a few can make full-working, nicely-rendered clips.

Yes you are right... but I don't have a bloody render farm to be able make these things with a flaw and have to repeat it all over again.

These shots take forever, with anti-aliasing turned all the way up, ray tracing, high poly models... and its many frames... I will try rendering a low resolution version of that clip and I'll release it as proof that we are doing this... savy?

Hmm. Ray tracing does take awhile. Will the 3D render also feature some neat aspects such a tri-bumpmapping, poly-definition rendering (PDR, I think), high normal-aliasing and concave light sources? Those things take so long on my crappy comp. :(

Ok, this is stupid but I'm going to do it anyhow... I'm rendering a low quality test render of that shot... there a few elements missing and a few bugs:
-Fighters need to be added.
-Sun and sunflares are being considered, based on the opinions here I will decided if they are needed or not.
-Still trying to fix a bug with material. If you don't catch it, then I won't fix it.
-Animations are probably too fast, for now.

Will post as soon as done rendering and uploading.

EDIT: There might be a background issue with the stars...

It actually looks nice for a poster sort of thing, even if it's so simple. But why did you have to make 3 consecutive posts? Why not just wait 'till you've upped whatever you're upping and *then* post?

Maybe I'm just edgy because I'm tired. Oh well.

Obviously they're like wings, and they flap in space to make the SD go faster.

Those are the worst SDs i have ever seen! Even if they ware some wierd Neo-Empire/Empire Reborn remade SDs i still don't see why they should have razor blade type wings. I suggest this to make it look better and different:

1. 3 Sheild gens UNDERNEATH the ship. That gives the shield gens more protection and gives the ship 50% more shield power.

2. Since that would consume so much power make the ship more bulbus to make it seem as if there was a HUGE reactor in there.

3. MORE HEAVY CANNONS The Imperator 2 class SD has 8 [I think] Heavy cannons beside the control tower. Add 14, 6 along each side and 4 on the front.

4. Make sure the turbolaser turrets are visible i hate it when i look at some SDs and OMG theres no weapens YET THERE IS GREEN LASER COMING FROM NOWHERE!

5. Maybe add some Tie esque solar panels to help with the Power issues.

6. Add a Venetor style docking bay on top of the ship.

The reason the Wrath Destroyer has wings and looks like it looks is because they are designed for atmospheric deployment.

Any how... here is an EXTREMELY low quality and compressed render test animations... there are many flaws in it... how ever it still looks good.

It seems you are just moving the camera. Why are they so reflective?

The original model which we built off of, and can be seen in the very early WIP pics of the city comes from blender wars... however, we modified the textures, added the wings and changed some geometry. Despite all of this, we take no credit for it and the credit goes to Tom at blender wars for making it.

That looks like good progress dude. The people who thought you were only making still shots should probably be content that their criticisms were answered and refrain from immediately harping on something else until more is shown, perhaps?

I liked it, keep it up. Work on detail, add a little more fluid animation if you can, I don't know much but I'm sure there are tutorial sites about spicing up pre-rendered scenes like that.

I look forward to more.

Oh, and that's a rather simple screen to render. If it's taking you long, you're either doing it wrong or have a TERRIBLE computer.

There's major clipping issues on the back, they're too close together, and they look like they're made of rock.

I am quite impressed that you've been able to show off some of this content SF Gold. I really hope that nobody finds that you've stolen any of this footage. You could honestly be turning a new leaf.
