GoZ 'stand-in' model of the Falcon for reference. MaDaVentor's textures for now. An early look to determine community interest.

unweld the vertices from the blocks around the homestead.
It'll create flat lighting, rather than blended.

Also I advise using texture shadows and translucent shader layering, its best for high contrast desert lighting :XD:
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

The blocks aren't attached. The lighting error seems to stim more from the fact that there's more then three vertices per surface.

I've explored translucent surface layering before, but how do you overcome the z-fighting that occurs at a distance? Is there a way to give priority to the tranlucent surface?

Pretty cool progress!

Is there an inside (near the falcon) shot available? From this perspective, it looks like the building surrounding the ship isn't tall enough.

It's a circle with extruded bricks on the roof. Eh. Not amazing, but not terrible.

It's the nostalgic feeling of 'ooh new level with stormies and secret areas!' - don't ruin it. (even though you're obviously right)

Even if its not "terribly impressive" by your "standards," it is always available for improvement and suggestions. Instead of rubbing it off.

Slight improvements to the starport since it's a focus point. Made the starport deeper. Altered terrain for new starport depth. Scrapped old starport interior for new, but still working on it. Also adjusted lighting on the building. Changed the lighting mode for square architecture to diffuse:

better light effects now. good.

Have you tried using 3do's for sand dunes and rocks, via the flicker cog? would add extra realism :)

Does anyone know where I can get a GR-45 Medium Transport? It doesn't have to be high detail, I just need a 'stand-in' reference.

I'm using "Inside the Worlds of STAR WARS Trilogy: The ultimate guide to the incredible locations of episodes IV, V and VI." as a reference for Mos Eisley's building layout. Ignore the background transport.

Very purdy. If you have some pics I could whip up a decent model for you to use, plus some passible texs which my good comrade Ruthven could redo masterfully or someone else as better than my no-so-good texturing skills :v:

It looks like this:
http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/8/86/GR75transport_schem.jpg

Except without the 6 Secondary Drive Engines on top. The top should only have the Main Reactor Cowl and the Command Pod. The other difference is that it's only 60 meters in length instead of 90. It's textured like the GR-75's that evacuated Hoth but with a lot more rust.

You should use the textures from Gonk's Jedi Academy map, Dustbowl I think it's called.

Also, I'm a little bit bothered by your ~12 fps or so in there, unless I've forgotten how to read JK screens.

I'm developing on a lower end laptop. I couldn't get JK to run on Vista. :saddowns:

How much lower end? I used to get 30+ fps on my Pentium II 266 / ATI Rage 2!

Looks like a good start, the textures seem too repetitive though. Try to change up the stairs to seperate them from the building design. Good start though. Keep it up!

Cool! I like it, and I also like the fact that you used different sources than just copying SWG's starport model.

You might find some helpful mats in here: http://files.massassi.net/mats/tatooine.zip - though I really can't remember if these mats fit your level.

Thanks. Now I'm going to go spend 2 hours finding my JK CDs and re-installing JED so I can spend the next 3 weeks working on some new level that will never see the light of day.

Looking good, oh and just a random idea to overcome the z-buffer crap...bring the 3do towards the player abit, else hide the 3do so there's no flickering....anyways, to prevent theorys of theadjacking, find your GR-45 transport on this thread here for your approval.

Problems with VISTA. I have Vista on my laptop, and i thought i was having issues getting JK to run. It was quite accidental the solution. When you get past the amin credit crawl, were jerec kills rahn, it goes to an all black screen but you can hear the sounds of the buttons? just CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then hit cancel. Works great with me, but a few things seem to be off no matter what, IE the red load bar is black. But other then that JK runs fine. SSo yeah anytime it gets a black screen other then loading screens, just CTRL+ALT+DELETE and CANCEL. hope that helped.

For me, when I hit Esc to try and skip the opening movie, it crashes. If I let the opening movie play through, it crashes when it get's done. Running JK.EXE as admin doesn't seem to make a difference either. I'm stumped.

Well Alco i unno what to tell you. I havent had that problem cept when i load a level from JED that has errors. Really dunno what to tell ya. Sorry man. VISTA is complex, and yet MS is making ANOTHER OS to replace VISTA. Let me just stick with stupid WIN98 lol.

For those having trouble running JK on Vista, one option is to try running JK with the -windowgui command-line parameter. This shows menu screens and cutscenes inside a window instead of being fullscreen. In-game windowing isn't changed.
