Er, sorry i was a bit unclear. I was saying I should do what CM said and just have the player die right there very anti-climatically :P

but as it turns out I am indeed very close to the end of the second part. Ill be starting part 3 soon, where the player is deep in the heart of this facility and looking for the proper source, and after that the last level is the escape. :)

Zero_Raven, it is JA. Sorry to disappoint.

You work awfully fast.

that's what happens when you're 18, unemployed, all your friends are in college, and you have a year to go until you get to go to college as well.

I bet that's what happens when you don't have to switch between two broken versions of radiant constantly to get anything done, too. :(

That's pretty fricken sweet.
TAKES HINTS JUST FINE, STILL DOESN'T CARE

Haha I love the aggressive approach.
2008-11-19, 7:39 PM #53
that comment was in regards to genk's comment on zombies and elevators. the horrible part where you have to fend of numerous zombies of the fast and slow variety while waiting for the slowest elevator in the history of gaming.

Your level looks real good Zell. :)
I am just about to get a copy of JA and I want to get into this as well. The only experience I have building levels is with farcry and crysis. where would i start? do i download the editor or is that on the disk?

I just watched the videos you posted on Youtube. VERY promising work. I especially like the ambience.

Oh wow, I am sorry but I just saw that you asked a question. To edit JA, I use a program called GTKRadiant (do not use JK2Radiant), which can be found with a fairly easy enough Google search. When you find it, download version 1.4.0, not 1.5.0. 1.5.0 is very very buggy and unstable as JM said up above. Decent beginner tutorials can be found by googling 'richdiesal' and 'bubbas q3 arena tutorials'. Happy hunting. :neckbeard:

For the record, 1.4.0 is the buggy one. 1.5.0 is very stable, but it is incomplete.
2008-12-30, 6:40 AM #65
Use both.

1.4.0 has problems under certain graphic cards.

If you want to be daring, you can try the test build of 1.6.0

I think the last one I used was 1.3.x. I remember trying early builds of spog's enhancements which included actual useful tools for manipulating brushes, planes and vertices.

nice level, i want to play it. thank zell.

Exactly. But it's actually a bug in Radient itself. It winds clipped triangles the wrong way.

Does it have the shear tool again? And actual usable vertex manipulation?
