MP5 is awesome. It's silenced and the AI doesnt notice it nearly as much.

I'm having no problems with the AI running into walls. Maybe slower computers just can't handle it quite as well, who knows.

The plot is....we don't really know...

That's because it's a "Jungle Falcon .357"... heh... right.

Anybody else found the driveable jeep? When you reach the main island, go left along the shoreline instead of heading up until you find another mercenary patrol guarding a jeep.
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

I love using that MP5, I'll switch it to semi-auto and pick mercs off from the bushes. I like fighting mercs in patrol boats. And I do believe thats per pixel lighting.

It's an elusive albino jungle-pig-tapir thingie [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

So far I've spotted tropical fish, seagulls, parrots, dragonflies and a pair of those cute wild pigs.

Resized & linked the rest:
Oooo, a crash-landed rusty Zero Reminds me of the Palau Lagoon in Infernal Machine, except this one doesn't show any battle damage.

Listening in on their discussion ... before flinging a rock against a rusty pipe as a distraction for running up to their turned backs for some Khukri carving.

Ouch. T'was him or me.

I noticed that the beta I got looks and runs better than the demo. Maybe thats just my system though, meh.

Yeah, a lot of people on the ubisoft forums said the beta is better than the demo. maybe something is conflicting because they had to remove things so players wouldnt get to do everything and not buy the game, or have to do some kinda timed demo.

The game is fun, except so far I've gotten really wierd graphical glitches on some of the big rocks. Like when you land on one of the beaches the rocks flicker from black to textured. Weird, anyone else have this problem?

It's a problem with radeon cards apparently. It's fine in the beta, though, from what is said on the forums, so i expect it wouldnt be a problem for the final game.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They'd be stupid to release the full game with such an obvious graphical error,

Thrawn42689: The mercenaries I took snapshots of were all in the underground complex (same place as the silenced SMG). Up the stairs after the jungle plateau, don't follow the path to the right, head to the left to look for a tunnel entrance instead.

A lot of people are having a lot of problems. The Ubi forums are filled with bug listings and gameplay tweak suggestions. I sincerly hope the developers listen to them.

I've been having crashes and various graphical bugs. Most notably of the artifacts is some strange shadow flickering, shadows cast by foliage often flicker too much, and sometimes vehicles start flickering with a weird black and tearing effect.

If this is the problem I think it is, disabling anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering will stop this from happening on both Radeon and Geforce cards.
2004-01-23, 11:54 AM #68
No, it doesn't help.

Some people on the Ubi forums are saying to revert to 3.9 from 4.1, Naythn upgraded to 4.1 and it fixed it...Seems more like a problem with the ATI support in the game itself than anything else. I hope they release another demo, even if just a patched version of this one. It's a lot of fun to play, but crashes just too much, gets annoying.

Try redownloading it. Make sure you delete the original and any temporary files, otherwise your browser may just reuse the temprorary file.

Diabling Ansiotropic Filtering gets rid of the stupid rock problem, but the game won't run correctly with AA on my Radeon. So it has a lot of jaggies; the demo is still great though, a lot of fun to play. If the final version of the game is like the demo with bug fixes, I'll be perfectly happy! Plays fine on my system, but seriously...

What's so special about this game?
Aside from some well-done visuals... the gameple isn't that fun, the AI isn't too bright... the soldiers' skills change so often, and sometimes they don't even notice you when you are crouching 2 feet aways, IN THEIR LINE OF SIGHT.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong here.
