I am guessing they couldnt get the permission to use the DE name, so they make their own bigass hand gun and called it the jungle falcon. Makes a lot of sense because the desert eagle was from isreal where there are a lot of deserts, and the jungle falcon is being used in a jungle.

[edit]oh yeah, i finally got it working, too. just burned the directory where it was installed on the family PC to a disc and threw it on my PC. Finally i got to play it on 1280x1024 with all details on very high. My god this game is beutiful.[/edit]

What the hell is wrong with Anti-aliasing and this game? The jaggies don't go away and I get an error message right before it loads if I start up with AA on. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro.

Yea, you have to use the AA settings in game, not the ATI control panel one. You also have to disable ansiotropic filtering in the ATI control panel so some model textures won't flicker. Even then though the AA doesn't do a great job on far away objects. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

grr I gotta get me a new vid card. regardless, it's still fun at 800x600 [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]. Also, I like killing the wild boar, and then when you continue to stab it with the knife it jerks arounds... yeah i'm sick.

I'm also stuck. I can't beat it.

Uninstall the drivers from the control panel, use http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/ and then reinstall.

I'm stuck at the point where they call in air reinforcements, and start lobbing shells up onto that concrete thing... when your pal is unlocking the door.

he unlocks it, I go inside and... where do you go from there? the second door doesn't open, and I can't find the 'officer to kill'

i noticed there is a way to bring down a console. anyone know of any ways how to turn off the attack helicopters or turn on god, becuase i want to explore the rest of the huge island.

Ok, after go through 5 system restores, Far Cry worked again. Once. Now whenever I start the level it freezes when the loading bar is almost at the end. If I reinstall Far Cry it lets me play once and then it freezes whenever I try to load the level again. Any idea why this might happen?

That happened to me. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro and it worked when I turned off Anti-Ailiasing and Anistropic filtering.

as far as i know the lowest setting possible is 2x & 2x in the display control settings although lets see what happens if i change it to application controled.

If I know what the "flickering" is that you're talking about setting ansiotropic filtering to application controlled gets rid of it. I had the same problem.
