No, actually you spelled it correctly.. Pearl Harbor is in Hawaii. Hawaii is in the United States. In the United States, we don't use unnecessary u's in our words.

but what about the second "i" in aluminium. you changed the spelling of a word that is older than your nation.

. . . What? Last time I checked (which would be today since I'm studying for a chem exam), aluminum has one "i" in it.

Aluminum the element is a different word than 'aluminium', which is also a word. Americans do not pronounce 'coffee' as 'offee'... some northeasterners may say 'cwoffee' (ish)

What's your point? If you remove an "i" from aluminium, you either get "aluminum" or "alumnium". So I fail to see your point.

This forum has not become so uptight as to ban a long-time user for a comment like that?

It was obviously a joke (in poor taste, but a joke nonetheless), and looking at it the other way, it seems to me like what he said was basically that the Japanese military overpowered Pearl Harbor at that time and place.
2003-12-07, 4:39 PM #27

I thought Cavey was banned for saying "I'm a troll" on every thread and posting an (inappropriate?) pic on every thread.

When I was banned it was for breaking a rule, I personally attacked Emon, and I used a curseword. If Americans are allowed to celebrate the fall of a nation they invaded without cause and continue to occupy, killing many innocents, then I get to celebrate my favourite nation's greatest modern military victory.

There is no such thing as a cowardly attack in war, the only cowardly action is retreat. In war you do whatever you can to win, the more of the enemy you kill the better, at least they attacked a MILITARY target. Oh, and I know it was in poor taste but don't expect me to apologize to some dead guys who PROBABLY don't read these forums.
