Fantastic.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Great, thats just the take we need in politics today, "If Arnold can do it, why cant 50?". Politics is not a joke, and he shouldnt be running for office just because Arnold can get elected, seriously. He probably doesnt have any political background/experience, and probably doesnt have a freaking clue.

Well it might be a good thing.
For one, it would get ALOT of people out to vote. The younger kids who think it would be cool if he was mayor, and the adults that would go out and vote against him.

Yes... but is that what we want kids to do? Vote for somebody, who doesnt know crap about politics, or make educated decisions based on their beliefs and vote for someone they believe will better this country?

I dont understand why you guys are all bashing on him for wanting to run for office. Just because he is a rap superstar doesn't mean that he doesn't know crap about politics. I'm sure people thought the same thing about Arnold when they first heard he was running.

People are too quick to judge even when they have no information on the person whatsoever.

For all you and I know, he could be brilliant.

I know I'm asking for trouble by saying this, but it's the truth...I'd like to point out that despite the fact that he is a rapper, former drug dealer, or whatever you guys have called him in this thread... He's gone a lot further in life than most of you can ever hope to.

If you call being a former drug dealer and being shot in the face 9 times "going far" thats pretty sad.

Just because he's famous doesn't mean he's acheived more in life than us. Being a celebrity doesn't make someone a more worthy individual.

...how exactly does him going from acrack dealer to a celebrity rapper put him on a pedestal above the rest of us? He's grown, good for him. We all do. Just because we are not famous doesn't make us any less worthy....and if it does I worry about what you value in people.

You know, drug dealers and rap artists are about equal on the ladder of societal acceptance, so it isn't that much of a step up.... I mean, either way, he's going to be raking in a fortune from people with poor tastes and no future.

Quite frankly yeah, he has a clue. Especially compared to a rap star.

I wonder if he will run as "50 cent" or his real name...

And yet your saying none of us will ever do anything good. Whoopty freakin doo, he made some money off of an album that isnt that great. He should have stayed underground where he was actually good. But to tell us that we will never be better that someone who has been shot for drug related things and got lucky enough to make a cd, thats just blah.

You'd think after getting shot in the face 9 times, 50 Cent would learn.

That doesn't make him anymore worthy for public office, which is the implication which was being made.
