Yeah a slightly darker green would be better for the boxes. Also the white border looks out of place. You can remove that with CSS

Brian, could you modify the file attachment code to allow uploads of .cog files?

Now for lower priority questions: does an attached file get deleted after so much time, or do we delete it, or...? What is the limit on the number of (or total size of all) files that we can have attached at any one time?

The forums need some space between the top of the page from the top of the Massassi Temple Forums logo

I believe that the post tables should be slightly thinner .. just a nitpick, though.


On another note -- why not allow avatars? You can have it so it's default that everyone has them turned off in their profile/options, and for the few that want them on, they can turn them on.

There needs to be one more single space between both the header of posts and the body, as well as the body and the footer. Right now, names and whatnot are aligned on the line just above the body of text. This is what seems so cluttered. Our previous forums had better spacing, and was more pleasing to the eyes.

As well, there's a lot of bolded font that wasn't before. This is causing a lot of the clutter in post people's eyes. As well, a lot of the icons and smilies just don't fit with Massassi's theme. A total overhaul of most of the smilies would be a big improvement. Thumbs up could be the temple icon, etc.

Lastly, color and size needs to be severelly limited. If possible, portions of the color pallete need to be DELETED. The colors that man's eye was never intended to lay sight upon. The colors all those noobs think is going to get them attention. These colors, and font sizes need to die: a quick and painful death.

Oh, and our names, titles, and soon to be hex were all in a green font. This also will help the general clutter.

Nitpick- In Opera, at least, you have to click inside the post box to start typing. I think you should make the Reply box start with focus.. (If you can do that.)

Why do the links turn red on mousover? It's ugly as hell! Change it back to the lime green it used to be.

I really don't like the "Post added! Click here to go back to forums" page. It's really useless, why can't it just skip that altogether and go back to the forum after I've hit "post" anyway, and only display such a page if there's an error?

I don't know if you can change that, though, I've seen it on every VB forum, and it irritates me on every one..

It does that on *any* forum, so that when you refresh the thread listing, it won't re-post your post (being that you'd be at a page that loaded after POSTDATA was sent).

It did that on the old UBB, as well.

Oh, I was thinking, maybe we could bring back the old folder icons? I mean, for new posts and stuff .. I didn't realize how many new posts there actually were (I had inadvertedly trained myself to ignore the old, white, folder icons) .. now whenever I visit a forum it's like completely full of those bright yellow folder things =_=

I hear there is a significant word limit placed on posts now...2000 characters I believe? If at all possible to increase the word limit and/or get rid of it all-together, as that is a rather constraining limit for the ISB, we'd much appreciate it.

Besides my earlier comment, I noticed that now past, like, 5 pages a thread will have a "..." followed by "last page." Not so much a problem, but "last page" actually goes to the last post. I'm really more concerned about the 2000 character limit than anything, but I thought I'd just bring that up too...

I just noticed something really pointless...

The drop down menu has a "Go" button next to it but when you click on something from the drop down it takes you to what you selected anyway.

The "Post New Topic" and "Post Reply" buttons are messed up in IE. They appear fine in firefox, though.
