It appears the GameCube Entertainment System by Nintendo is winning. Hooray.

By doing well I meant turn out well.

And no, that is not what all games are. Some try to improve on a tried and true method, and win (Call of Duty). It seems Nintendo just tries to be as random as possible, and hope for the best.

Yay for ninja edits!

"SOMETIMES, it'll do well, but most of the time, it'll go straight down the crapper. "

"It will do well" means sales 99% of the time. Learn to increase your clarity. If you are talking about the concept though, provide examples.

You seem to be assuming a lot of things as well, like Nin just goes for 1,001 crap shoots. Provide examples of games made by Nintendo that were indeed crap. Not example singular (I'll give you Kirby's Air Ride) but plural, because you imply a trend.

And what the hell did Sony ever improve upon? Those hunk-o-junk systems seem to have a knack for breaking down, I wish they would improve that before anything else.

Like I said, YAY FOR ASSUMPTIONS.

PS2 I've already listed examples of their innovation.

Bad nintendo games?

Pikmin (Innovative, but was it REALLY that good?)
Banjo and Kazooie
Zelda: After OoT
Mario Party: everything after the first
At least 90% of the stuff for the N64.

I've not played a whole ot of GC games, so I'm not amazingly well versed in its library, but from what I've seen the of the N64 and what I've played of the GC's titles, there are so few good titles out there for the GC, that after a while it just isn't any fun to have anymore.

YAY FOR ASSUMPTIONS. All of the games you just mentioned for GC are incredibly awesome and popular.
Think while it's still legal.

No, they're incredibly crappy, and popular.

In YOUR OPINION they are. But, in the OPINIONS of just about everyone else, they're AWESOME.
2004-09-05, 8:14 PM #87
Not really. I know tons of people that hate those titles. I'm not the only one, nor one of the only ones, nor one of the few. Only nintendo fanboys love those titles.

Wow, you've taken stupidity to a whole new level. Congrats.
2004-09-05, 8:20 PM #89
Not really. But you sure are running with the "let's call people stupid for no reason" title.

And don't even try to tell me SAJN and you aren't nintendo fanboys--SAJN will probably admit he's one (then give us a lecture that PS2's and XBoxes are crappy PCs  ) and you may deny it, but only if you're lying.

Actually, I'm not. I would have all 3, if I didn't constantly blow my money on performance upgrades for my car.

Ya know, just because someone disagrees with you, that doesn't make them a fanboy. The only fanboy I see is you. Just because YOU and a few people you know don't like a game, that doesn't make it bad. The FACT is, those games you hate so much have received OUTSTANDING reviews from everyone.

Maybe if you weren't so closed minded you'd realize that. Oh, and IMO, when someone goes around saying "OMG if u liek taht gaem tehn u r @ f@nb0y!!!11!!" then they definitely deserve to be called stupid.

Now, if you'll excuse me, MoH:PA just got done dl'ing. I've got some killing to do.

I don't understand why console debates (read: threads) get so heated. There's the condescending PC bunch and then the inter-console rivalry gang. I take them each for how I see them. PC: the ultimate gaming platform when - A) you have the money to build a primo PC and B) the game is available for it. PS2: A) possibly the greatest (or second to PC) library of games ever but B) hardware that isn't up to par with it's later arriving rivals. Gamecube: A) Possibly the best hardware console in its purest form yet made with, B) a love it or hate it (or both) list of exclusive titles without C) the demand that would have driven the console to greater heights (online and peripherals that will probably never develop to the extent they could have due to poor Nintendo decisions). XBox: A) The suplement/alternative to PC gaming, with the power and library needed to come close to competing with PCs, B) the best implementation of online play yet (in an albeit young console endevor and subscription status) providing multiplayer options, friends lists, and downloadable content, and C) while not overly lacking in exclusive titles really losing out on some key titles to Sony

...so let me get this straight, the forum member who takes his name from a Nintendo character is trying to diss others for being fanboys? [/size]

?me looks at Metroid Prime 2, Pikmin 2, Paper mario 2, SSB:M

Um.. yah, sure.

That is an almost perfect run down on how things should be looked at.

Defying international sale trends, GameCube wins

PlayStation 2 comes in a dissapointing second, while XBox brings up the rear.

4 whole games. Maybe they're starting to wise up, though, who knows.

Acharjay--realize this name was created in the memory of when Nintendo was pure, and fun, and unstoppable. In the age of the SNES.

And no, Master, I'm not a fanboy, and your definition of fanboy is incorrect. If anything, by your opinion, I'm biased against the gamecube, which I somewhat am. Their crappiness that was the N64 jaded my view, but not to this extent.

And a FEW people? Don't get me started there.

I voted Gamecube....even though honestly I played my stepsons cube, my brother-in-laws xbox/ps2 and then quietly went back to my trusty PC...only now with a good gamepad. Now if companies would just stop making ****ty pc ports I'll be a happy man.

Something about the gamecube controller was befuddling to me, I could never get used to it, but picking up the XBOX controller was like second nature. I like XBOX for its extras and such. I will agree all three systems are good in thier own way, but my preference is the XBOX.

Pikmin was that good. The game is great, the sequel is better.

Banjo and Kazooie is not a Nintendo game.

Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are awesome games.

90% of the stuff on the N64 isn't Nintendo.
