Episode III - Teaser Reaction

I dunno...it looks ok, but seriously. Is there anything new here?
It seems like all the same old stuff. Lucas doesn't have any original ideas.

The sad thing is, I spent like an hour and a half making this.

Looks good, I can't wait another 7 months.

Oh, I'm sorry to break the bad news, but I think those last two people were trampled to death when they tried to cross a line of people queueing up for the OT DVDs. They should have circled around, but then again, they never understood, until it was too late... :(

Not bad at all.....then again.....the other prequel trailers were pretty good too. Well, except for the 'romance' one fro EP2. Not trying to get my hopes up too high mind you.

Do you really wanna know for sure who Windu fights? I don't think so. Do you really wanna see Grevious in action? No I don't think so. They need to save some of these things. And after all, it's a teaser. It's not supposed to show alot. The teaser for Terminator 3 showed metal dripping and then forming into a T3 symbol. End. It is basically just to let the average joe, when he's in the theater tomorrow watching the Incredibles, that the movie is coming. So he looks up and says "oh hey another star wars flick. Cool." Instead of not knowing about it. Believe it or not, there ARE people that don't know alot about Star Wars, and don't care alot about it either. They don't know Obi Wan and Anakin fight in 3, and they don't know alot of the things we saw in this trailer.

Holy [snip]! Thank you god! Maybe Lucas hasn't gone completely bat**** ****ing loco after all. I take it the eyes were supposed to look like Maul's?

[edit-watch it]
nope.

Um, they're gonna see Disco Vader and be immediately turned off.

Since when is having a flaming ship falling towards the surface of Coruscant with Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine on board, while Anakin is attempting to make it not crash into heavily populated areas and while "Coruscant Firefighters" are trying to put the ship's flames about before impact not original? I've never seen Lucas do that before. Also, good use on the subtle Enterprise, I didn't notice it at first.

I wondered what the flaming ship sequence was all about. I take it it's at the start of the film?

If you look, all of those scenes are slightly edited...

It was a joke.

It's like where's waldo, kinda. Just look.

No, I saw them, I just took the text part of his post literally because it's what people have said before in a serious manner.

in the few frames where anakin is fighting obi wan on the lava planet, it looks to me like anakin is missing his left arm.

I bet it will be the W-wing.

Also, anyone notice the shot where Padme had Leia buns in her hair?

[speculation] Ya know, looking at that shot of the Emperor swinging his saber... it didn't look right at first. So I did a frame by frame - if you look at the way he's holding it, it seems like he's loosely holding it with one hand, and swinging VERY hard - perhaps he's using Saber Throw? After all, in that shoot of Windu fighting, the angle we see is very strange - no visible opponent, jsut the saber, and he doesn't continue with an attack, he draws into a pose. Just thinking. [/speculation]

I'm not too keen on Sidious duelling. I'd rather he just fought with lightning or something.

No it is there. I can see how you'd make the mistake though. The cuffs on his robe are remarkably wide (probably trying to help tie-in with original trilogy fashions), it looks like his left arm is far too short but I can see a hand poking out the end.

I think that last shot of Mace that whoever posted the pics of will be where he dies. You can tell by the look on his face, that he looks worried. Like he's losing the fight he's in. And does it appear to anyone else that the background looks like his quarters in the Jedi council?
2004-11-05, 1:30 PM #103
From what I've gathered from Episode III Webdoc's and Set Diaries, Mace gets killed in Palpatine's office when Mace goes there with other Jedi (including Kit Fisto) to confront what Palpatine has been hiding from them over the years .

Wowsers, that trailer revived my hopes for Ep3. Maybe they can regain the awesomeness of the OT with this title.

As long as Jar Jar shuts up, little kids aren't flying spaceships (did anyone notice that in the beginning of TPM a KID is flying the ship that carries Obi and Qui?), and the movie reduces lameness (such as some mediocre acting and AotC's 50's style bar on Coruscant), this film will be amazing.

Okay, Lucas probably won't deliver on all that. Still a good trailer.
2004-11-05, 9:07 PM #105
I thought the bar was good, but the rest of the Courscant Undercity sucked. Maybe not so much suck as not deliver what he claimed to be going for, which was a Bladerunner esque look.
