Valentine's day
2005-02-11, 12:17 AM #41
Lesse...it's Monday right? I have a big assignment due then so I'll probably be working on it for all of the day. Then I have to work until 8:15 PM. To which I'll probably go home and not do a damned thing on V-Day. I don't have to go to work on Tuesday until noon so expect to hear drunken ramblings from this wizard.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Yay! Another day to be completely antipathic about!
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Me and Izzy are going to a nice little Italian place, we've already given each other our presents, based upon the decision that Valentine's Day is just a random date on the calendar.

But it's always a good excuse to spoil your significant other. Hence the restaurant.

And my watch still rocks :p

i'm just gonna shag.

and then whisper happy valentines day... before passing out. :p

I'm going and getting this girl later today. Then we're going to a formal dinner thing at a spiff restraunt. After that we're going to a dance.

my girlfriends birthday is on valentines day

this equals me buying lots of buzzing presents, it should be a good day, she will be buzzing.

Probably nothing, though I'm thinking about cashing in and giving this girl I fancy a valentine. Probably not. I've got more important things to worry about than a girl, anyways.

Page--you do realize women read the forums, and will read this thread, right? I'd suggest not saying something so blatantly...chauvinist, one might say.

And you can call it being 'PC', I call it not inciting flame wars.

I'm getting my Love Actually DVD in the mail on V-Day. I plan to watch it alone in my dorm.

...

Um...I got chocolate roses for my friends, but otherwise I just plan to be alone. :/

I'm hoping it'll be wonderful, its the first time I've ever had someone to spend that evening with.

sounds great. think: "The Notebook" out on dvd now. few people make it through that without a tear.

I'm going to bring gbk the body of Bill Gates...

...ok, no. But actually, I'm either going to write a poem for a woman I've been wanting to go out with forever, or find a good one on the internet. I think I'll write one. Last time I wrote a letter to her, she said I made her feel lovely and loveable, and stuff. But she's not the type who likes to casually date. So I'll just have to change her mind or something. I'm not real sure how to approach that, but I'm not weak-willed (by a long shot), and I don't give up. I like a challenge.

Knowing Cara like I know her, I don't think it'd be her cup of tea. One of her only flaws is her attention span . . . she'd be fidgeting soo much by the end of a movie like that, so I'm gonna have to lean towards somethign with a bit quicker pace.

I also just got a box of, like, grade school kid's valentines while I was in town tonight, so I'm gonna fill out each one for her, and then slip in a few jokes incase she were to read through them all.

I just really want to do everythign I can to make sure that while we're together on that night that she knows how much she really means to me.

In sharp contrast to me, who sobbed through the entire end. Of course, I'm a girl, so maybe it's just a girl thing.

I'm trying something a little different this year. I call it "Valentine's Day Big Brother Survivor Idol".

Essentially I take all the joyous parts of the event (the mass commercialisation, the molestation of St. Valentine's true intentions, the chocolate bears) and combine them with a reality-TV concept.

In short, I'm going to the mall with flowers and chocolates and ambushing passing women. And recording it.

I'm going to be working from 9-5, and getting friendly abuse from my colleagues because I'm the youngest person there and won't be doing anything for Valentine's Day. Around 12, I'll probably prove Chaz right by dying a little inside before plugging in my headphones and ignoring everyone for the rest of the day.

Working 1-7 and then taking my sister to get a Valentine's Day card for her boyfriend. (I gotta say, overall, I think that's pretty cruel. Let my dad take her. *He* has a Valentine. :) )

While some of you wanna-be nerds are just going to sit and home and mope....

My FFXI linkshell is gathering together to throw a linkshell anti-valentine's party. We are all bringing some goblin chocolate, going to this beach and killing as many of these as we feel.

Alone for the first time in a couple of years -- so what am I going to do?

Take my best friend out to see his girlfriend -- the very one I have a major thing for (dammit, I feel like a horrible person just thinking about it). Then I get to be sad and depressed as they enjoy themselves all day long.

*sigh*

Gah. I went to a school Valentine's Dance last night. It sucked hard. It was basically watching my friends dance with their girlfriends and and watching the girl I fancy running around dancing with everyone. Major suckage. :(

On a slightly positive note, I have a great Valentine's thought for y'all:

I was bored and there were a bunch of roses lying around (it being Valentine's) so I decided to see what would happen if I peeled all of the petals off of one of them. So after a couple of minutes of carefully peeling off the petals, I discovered what lays beneath the beautiful outer layers of a romantic rose:

Sexual Organs.

Think about that!

Ok, I've discovered a whole new reason why Valentine's day is cruel. I was just in a shop and saw this huge, hulking beast of a man, leather jacket, skinhead, earring, all that stuff. He was holding a card in each hand and gazing back and forth in complete bewilderment. I've never seen anyone looking so lost!

As an act of rebellion, make sure you buy one of those regular chocolate boxes instead of those heart-shaped ones.
