China's gearing up to invade Taiwan

North Korea would freak out were a real war to break out thereabouts. And, considering their recent comments about Japan, vis-a-vis nuclear seas of fire and whatnot, they could really screw things up internationally.

Hey look, over reaction! Anyway, for hypothetical purposes:

Let's just hope all the **** doesn't hit the fan at once:

This just in, Kashmir under fire!

North Korea decides it's time to unite!

Isreal vs Palestine... and Saudi Arabia. And Iran. And Syria. And...

East Timor... round two!

Russia decides to reform the soviet union!

Civil war in Germany! (Well, we already entered crazy land, but hey, isn't east Germany still in considerably worse shape than west? Haven't updated my brain since 1990 though...)

Yeah, and a whole slew of other problems that are ready to burst ANY SECOND NOW!

Just to add some more problems to the mix:

Central African governments take sides, massive war!

Massive rebellion against Russian leadership in eastern Europe!

France gets invaded!

Cuba, Round 3 (4? I think so...)

-SPAM war, CMC... Must have been a rebellion or something like that before... Aside from Castro/Che going commie...

Over-reactive hypothesis. Not makin stuff up. Over-reactive hypothesis. What? He started it!

-Okay, maybe the France part was taking it a bit far, but, what, 400 years of precedent can't be wrong, can it?

I think China is to smart to drag itself into a conflict like this, its just a bluff. But they will get tiawan some day. When China is strong enough and the US has grown weak enough, they'll move in. I suspect China will have become capitalistic enough at that point that the transition won't really change much. Hell, maybe military action won't even be involved if thats the case.

Also, it would be pretty easy to starve the civilian populace.

That would reduce the surplus population very effectively!!
Problem solved!!
I say we give it a shot!

I'm willing to forsake the countless chinese females in order for this to work.
Population of Earth is way too big, China isnt helping.

Well, to be honest, China's the only country that's actively trying to help the situation.

In my opinion, the world could never take the U.S. soil, it could Nuke it, but thats an atrocity. Now, I can't believe the worlds would try so desperately to make the U.S. and its people look evil, with every small minor mistake or black sheep, instead of solving the problems of the slave children in India, or the Trokosi (correct my spelling if needed please) system which is an extreme violation of human rights. Now, Taiwan is our ally, and I would not let an ally stand alone, especially against (not yet decided) a foe like China. Now China told the U.S. to not get in. I smell nukes here, and I assure you they got something or nothing to threaten the U.S. besides their vast but poor army.
Nothing to see here, move along.

China could never win a war against the United States. Period. However, I do think we should stand up for Taiwan. Simply surround it with Aegis cruisers and lots of submarines. I don't think, unless their government goes crazy (more than they already are :) ), that China would ever launch nukes. It would mean the end of their civilization as they know it.

Oh, and Tenshu - you misquoted me in your sig. I believe that there was a sarcastic emoticon after my comment. :p
