Who cares?

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against homosexuals but why is there such a big fuss about it? Why are so many people against it? and then again why is it glorified at the sametime?

I don't understand why homosexuality has to stand out.. (gay pride parades, flags, TV channels)

it's not like there's a hetrosexual flag, or heterosexual pride parades...
I'm not bashing homosexuals or anything, I just want to know why everyone's gottta make a big deal about it, it's just a prefernece of one gender over the other.

What's your opinion about it?

Yeah, I agree.

I guess they make a big deal about it because they can... Homosexuality is becoming a lot more acceptable now than it has been.. They have flags and parades because they are a minority which means they can do whatever they want.

They only advertise it because normal people don't like it, it makes them feel unique in an otherwise bland world. I agree with the poster, so you're gay - why do you really need a parade?

I don't see anything wrong with gay people. I also don't understand what the big deal is.

Let people live their lives, and leave them the hell alone.


Oh yeah. I think they have their parades and flags and what not because they can, and they want to show people that they're not afraid to do what they want to do.

But that's just my guess, and my 8 bits.

They hold pride parades and have flags so they can have pride in themselves. That's why they're called "Pride Parades"

It's just like how there's 4th of July parades, Americans are proud of America.

I think some of it is outdated, like the parades, because now there's not so much of a stigma associated with homosexuals, they're not viewed as outsiders as much anymore. Mainstream America has realized that they're not communists and they dont want to sodomize every child they see.

And for TheJkWhoSaysNi... your little 'minorities can do whatever they want.' That is such a load of bull**** and you know it.

Because it used to be a "terrible secret" - something to hide and be ashamed of. If you guys are younger, then you may not be aware of what life was like for a homosexual in 1960 or 1900.

I tend to side with the already mentioned view of "don't bother me and I won't bother you," but I just ignore all of the gay pride stuff - I've already accepted the fact that some people are homosexual, and it doesn't affect me at all.

You'd do well to understand the history of something instead of just complain about it. Figure out why things are the way they are...

Also, was that the correct usage of 'affect'?

We should REALLY learn from history.

I don't mind the gay folk, what they do behind closed doors is non of my business, But what IS the big deal about homosexuality? Ancient greeks were once quite openly gay, women were not allowed to attend to the parties so when the men got horny they had some fun then went home to their wives, it was common for the men to be gay or bi.

The ancient greeks also had an elite military unit known as the sacred band, the unit was entily gay and won EVERY battle they were in until alexander the great defeated them, why? cause they were fighting beside their lovers and fought harder to not let their lover die.

if the stance that they took on homosexuality the world would be a better place IMO, gay ppl are a part of the world, they are here wether you like it or not.

Without bringing to attention the big problem that is prejudice, we would never fix anything. If people didn't complain/be proud about certain things, I'm sure we wouldn't have woman's rights or equal racial rights.
