That is THE most disgusting lightsaber ever.

And I don't understand why you think the sabers are green. The first time Luke activates that one, it does appear to be very bright blue, but not green.

Luke does hold a green saber in ANH. Could this only be a training saber?

If you're gonna talk about wacky saber colors, what about the teaser poter for Revenge of the Jedi (Pre-Return days) that featured a still of the Bespin deul that showed, yes, Luke with a Red saber and Vader with a blue. It's on the Encyclopedia.

that "training saber" is from the dumbass DVD version where the idiot artists made his saber green for a couple of scenes and then finally changed it back to blue for a couple more scenes.




Basicly whoever it was that made the mistake should be lynched.

and the screw-up in the falcon with luckes saber in ANH with the DVD edition. they made it green by mistake.

Maybe its blue, but the background does something to it to make it green.

As Rob pointed out, it appears to be 3 sabers in that scene. Two with Luke, and one on Obi-Wan.

1: The device on luke is the restraining bolt operator Luke uses. Obviously he still had it with him as he was intending to restrain R2 to bring him back to the farm when all this crazy **** happened.

2: Actually... yeah, they do change, don't they? I think it was... Corran Horn who's saber, like, can turn blue and extend three feet or something wacky like that.

how on earth can something like making lukes saber green in the first friggin movie get by... how? honestly HOW? Unless you are really a mentally challenged person who happens to know how to edit movies then you are exempt. To me that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Its like making Luke fly a Tie Fighter in a scene and have it slip, there is just somehting not right.

People, if you know ANYTHING about video editing capabilities in the time that was made, you know that the lighting of the area you're dealing with WILL effect the applied rotoscoping. Color correction was difficult, as it has to be rendered each and every time its changed. To save money, they probably aimed as close to the color as they thought it'd get, then rendered. If you watch the scene now, you can see the saber flickering in between different colors as it moves around in the room. That's because the lighting in the falcon is absolute crap. So some parts it's shaded with the blue light bouncing off the panels of the insides, and in antoher part it's shaded by a random obstruction. Thus the color is as close to 'blue' as possible.

The picture up above has had corrections made to it. It's probably a promotional picture and someone didn't realize that they were GOING for blue, and instead corrected the promo image to be MORE green.

And last of all, it looks like he's got another saber with him. Maybe he's using a training saber?
