The little Farscapegags between Mitchell and Vala were great. Made me laugh.

Vala: I'm pregnant and there's a 1 in 10 chance it's yours. *winks at Mitchell*

Vala: You should play hard to get.
Mitchell: Look who's talking.

Oi, I can't believe what they did to the theme song!!! It wasn't even 5 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Galacta's theme was atleast half a minute or more!!!!

AND USING THE ATLANTIS WORMHOLE EFFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I'm just pissed that they changed so much. I don't mind the story line, I can almost believe that SG-1 split up after defeating their only enemy, but messing with everything else. OI. That's all I have to say. OI.

Less time on the title = more show.

Actually they're doing less time on the title for more ads, not more show. We can't even hear a theme song as they want to shove more crap down our throats.

Jedigreedo's right. They didn't do it for more show time, rather for more ads cause they weren't making enough money

without commercials and the toned down opening, they saved at least 60 seconds, normaly episodes are about 43 minutes long, these ones were mroe around 42.

Kinda sucks that they don't have the cool openings with the spinny gate and the action scenes with the favorite musical score we've grown acustom to for the past 8 years... but I can live with it. many shows are cuting down on their opening credits, I'm told "LOST" only has the title LOST for a few seconds then the show starts.

even still, I love the tension between vala and daniel... "this looks familier" "no" "yes, isn't this where I beat you up" "no" "yes, it is, this si where I beat you up...' then daniel just makes her stop talking.

I like camron and his enthusiasim to do what the famous SG-1 did... he's kinda like a little kid on christmas who expected to get the deluxe playset and got the regular one... with assembly required...

IIRC, the premier of Atlantis didn't even have an opening. Perhaps the usual one will return next week when all the new characters are in place.

Yeah, I laughed a couple of times with the Vala/Daniel tensions.

SG-fan: Defeated their only enemy, nothing much left to do, divide resources most beneficial ways. Besides, I'm sure the old crew will pop up every so often.

SGA did have an opening, but it was also short like SG-1's was.

when Rising aried it was a special two hour "event" and it did not have an opening, it simply said "Stargate Atlantis" for a few seconds and then on with the action, around after the ancient city/ship took off and left the ancient chick behind.

Rising was aired on some stations in the UK as a two parter and the second part had the opening credits rolling, not sure if the first part did or not.

in re-runs atlantis's Rising will have the credits tho.

They have said that this will be permanent. Pretty crappy, IMO. Just to make room for more ads that people won't pay attention to. Or at least I don't really pay attention to them, most of them are stupid movie of the month for sci-fi.

The biggest thing that bugs me though is the Atlantis wormhole effect on SG1's intro. It didn't look right with the different style gate, at least keep some individuality!

Some of the gate travel in SG-1 will be to another galaxy. That might be why they used the Atlantis gate effect.

don't exactly see how... atlantis has SG-1's only working ZPM to power the gate for travel. if you are refering to the Orii, I think it's more of a telepathic trip then a phyisical one through the gate.

Everything I've read over at Gateworld indicates gate travel to another galaxy.
