Rob, why don't you just shut up... Make something better, and PROVE that you made it... I'm going to release my source code soon, and there are witnesses that I'm actually doing this, well one of the forums that I know of atleast... and that person is Genki, I showed him other things in MSN... any how... I have ALOT to DO and CHANGE before I can release this...

...you mean, you wrote the source code for the whole MMORPG already?

And what happened to that clip of your Jedi Knight Movie that you promised us?

No, and I just got a graphics engine... nothing more up to now, and the best part is it needs no VB runtime files, no open gl, no direct x, etc etc... and it need very lil memory... I got TONS of things to do, and I dunno if it gonna even be online... I want to make it more like KOTOR... it all depends on the help I get...

About the clip... its not going to have REAL actors in it... I plan to take the old JK models and put them in blender and render the story totally with things not found in JK... but that will be for later as I'm doing lots of things ATM, and I mean LOTS!

EDIT: I know I promised real live action... but it just wasn't possible... its a hard year down here... and these people I work with need profitable jobs not fan flics, even I got a job, so I work, do kung fu, go to tournements, just rentered school and its gonna be HELL this year... any how, I gotta go to karat class in a few more mins so post quickly....

Please. Just show us something. You KNOW no one believes you because you HAVE NEVER OFFEFERED ANY PROOF OF ANYTHING. PLEASE just post something other than a single sprite! Anything! Don't say it's coming later... if it was coming later you should have waited to post this until in the very first post you could have given us UNDENIABLE PROOF that you are actually doing anything.

2005-08-22, 2:26 PM #18
Well heres a 3d model of a jedi... as you can see this is not rendered... and it is not rigged... atleast not yet, I use this to render my jedi/sith sprites the pointy dots are used with halo effects to make a lightsaber effect, how ever its hard to make em appear properly on a 32x32 thing, and since 64x64 will be the new tile size, I will have to rerender everything, and this time use rigging...

You showed us an image of a 2D MMORPG. Now, a 3D MMORPG?

Of course they look different, I haven't changed the graphics yet and one is more advanced than the other.

No, I just showed a 3d model I use to render 2d sprites...

Any how, I have a compiled exe of the old 2d graphics engine if you care to play it...

INSTRUCTIONS: Arrow keys for moving around... I will give a cookie to any one who can find the secret key(s)... MUHAHAHAHA... any how... have fun if you can. It should work on any windows platform... and pay no atention to the weird names we put on them, its a family joke you wouldn't understand. Enjoy!

Please tell me what you think... also I will be releasing a totally better one, aka, the first screen shot, now I just have to remake the graphics, and put in a true tile background, any how, I'll be AFK for a few hours, keep the thread going, and start an FAQ here...

Theres no way you used that 3d model to make that crappy turd sprite.

Some games compile sprites from rendered animations. I can see how it might be easier to do that than hand-drawing every frame.

Yeah they used 3d sprites to create the 2d sprites in donkey kong country.

They took pictures of rendering for Donkey Kong Country. This looks nothing like that quality of sprite anyways.

There is a difference here, called TOP-DOWN and 32x32... now I will make 64x64, now what did you think about the graphics engine?

Finally some one who gets the concept! :)

What you all do not know is that this character was made in JED, imported and retouched in Blender, and I finally rendered it... Bet you didn't figure that out!

What matters to me now, is if I have gained your trust, if so... I will have enough motivation to finish GraphicsEngineDemo2 and it will be ALOT better than 1, you might enjoy it. So I did took the time to sit down and read a book and an online Manual plus forums to get this far... do you trust me?

Well, I played the demo doohickey and it works.

The only thing I would suggest is not allowing it to continue to process movement commands in such a delayed fashion--it lets me press forward+back over and over for a few seconds and then get up and leave while the character runs back and forth a bunch.

Your 'early graphics engine' is RPGMaker 2K3. But if you're going to rip off other programs, at least rip off the most recent, RPGMaker XP.

Please... stop this nonsense. You don't have a clue what you're doing.

Really? So SF_GoldG_01 is lying when he "developed" this graphics engine?

If this is true, so lame.

Indeed it is. I've used RPG maker a bunch in my time. What I don't understand is why this was so poorly done...
