PRETTY SHINEY

Very nice shame about Walkers crips (UK) who have just started a massive give away of Apples 'old' iPod minis, about 9,000

Holy crap, that thing is tiny!

It sucks that i just bought a 4gb mini a few months ago. :(

Edit: The Apple site doesn't even list Minis anymore. Meh.

I wonder how easily those things SNAP in half. And something that small...when will people understand that while small is better than big (in some cases) smaller means easier to lose.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I really doubt that it would snap easily. The minis are made out of a solid peice of aluminum, and I'm guessing the nanos are made out of aluminum too.

It would be easy to lose, though. I've lost my mini before...

*shrug* It's still bigger than a lot of cell phones I've seen. And yeah, thinner is probably more bad than good, what with the danger of snapping, as mentioned earlier. I'll be impressed when it's the size of one of those breath-freshening strips you put on your tongue. And don't give me lip about it being hard to control with your finger. It will be voice-activated, of course.

If I ever get one when they make them that size (oh, they will. it's unavoidable) They'll probably sell them in packets, and make them double as breath-strips :P

Yeah! You put it in your mouth and speak the name of the tune you want to hear. It plays inside your head, so's that only you can hear it, and dissolves once the song's finished. :D I'm inspired now! More ideas, quick!

Just watched the keynote speech the Steve Jobs (Apples CEO if you didnt know) a few intresting things to note

You know the Morotola Razor Cell phones ,its 63% smaller than that and thinner too.

On your jeans you have a smaller pocket in your normal pockets, it fits inside THAT with room to spare.

Well looks like the Mini is gone. I say, lower the price of the Nano to roughly around the price of an iPod shuffle. Phase the shuffle out, and Apple will dominate the mp3 player market more than they have been able to at this point. An iPod photo for 150 bucks? And that thin? People will eat it up. The shuffle isn't even selling as much they expected, this way you can recoup your losses somewhat.

If it wasn't 4 GB/flash I'd buy one. Microdrives may skip, but they're damn sexy.

Given the reliablity that Apple has proven with their previous players, I would buy one of these in an instant!*

*The preceding statement is pure and utter $#%^&@! and it should be noted that Apple iPods are the most unreliable pieces of junk ever to enter a service center.

I found out about this baby about a week ago. At the time I didn't know the price, and was all for it. Now my only gripe is completely phasing out the mini and replacing it with a more expensive player. Throwing this in and keeping the mini, or throwing this in at the mini prices would've been a much better business decision. The latter might've been tough given the cost of flash memory, but the former wouldn't have been too big of a deal. I see this as potentially driving some people who were considering minis to other brand players now.
2005-09-07, 9:57 PM #37
People still buy Ipods? Why would you want one of those atrocities?

$200 and $250 for 2 GB and 4 GB respectively.

Mini was $200 and $250 for 4 GB and 6 GB respectively.

So you're paying the same for less. On in the case of 4 GB, $50 more.

Whoops, meant to edit that in, not quote it, lol.
