jepman, you're actually comical. like emon said there's not going to be people blowing smoke in your face up and down every street. and i'm sure the legalized places to smoke it won't be the kinds of places you go to anyway because they'll be the same as where the gig smokers are allowed to smoke.
and why do you hang out with people who take part in such a disgusting habit if you're sooooo sensitive to it and it gets you upset?

and don't worry, you'll get used to it. it's called olfactory fatigue. it's why you can't smell all the other killer stuff in the air around you. you're constantly breathing it in.

The only difference between it and alcohol is that it can get other people around you high, so the only requirement would be to do it in private or in designated places. And not around children and everything.

It's not that easy to get a second-hand high.

I lived with an uncle who smoked every five seconds. I never got high off of it.

Also, it's not nearly as bad as alcohol--it probably won't make you puke (you have to smoke MASSIVE AMOUNTS of it), it has a limit where you can't get any 'higher', and it doesn't numb like alcohol does. Not to mention you still have your wits sort of about you after it's all said and done.

No..it can't. The only possible way to get high from marijuana is to DIRECTLY inhale it, it pretty much dissipates when it is exhaled from the lungs, since the THC (what gets you high) stays in the body. Hence, WHY IT GETS YOU HIGH.

The only way to get someone who is not smoking weed high is to "hotbox". It creates an almost air-tight tiny area (a small room/car) where you ARE directly inhaling it. If you're standing outside beside someone smoking weed, they can smoke a whole pound of the stuff, and you won't get high one tiny bit.

Okay, just a myth.

On my way to campus this morning I was reading the Daily Texan and this opinion article just about sums up how I feel about the issue and why I support this law and hopefully any law it inspires. Here's hoping that it doesn't get destroyed in the supreme court.

Heh, I have a funny story about this my Dad told me.

It was 1977, and he and his friend were driving to New York to attend a rich friends graduation.

So, they're driving in the middle of Iowa, and they park the car next to what looks like just a regular field in the middle of nowhere, so they can sleep.

They wake up in the morning, and they see the field, and it doesn't look like a regular field.

They inspect it, and low and behold, its a field of freaking marijuana.

It stretched on for as long as they could see.

So, they grabbed some of it, and all was well until they got to New York, more specifically their friends house.

His friend has like a pool house converted into a mini house, 2 bedroom, a bathroom, a REALLY tiny kitchen, and the living area.

My dad hangs MJ up in the bathroom.
They leave to go to a club.

They come back, and discover that cops are there.

My dad left town, after spending a night in jail and being bailed out.

I have a cool dad.

There was a multimillion dollar pot operation less than a mile from my house on some city land. They had a crazy irrigation system to bring water from a creek and everything. It got busted though.

The best grow-op I've heard of is the one that got busted here in Ontario a couple of years ago. People had turned an old beer brewery into a *HUGE* grow-op. (I think it was a Molson brewery) There was an insane amount of marijuana, just metres away from one of the busiest highways in Ontairo...

just to make this clear, the old molson brewery was a couple hundred thousand square feet. it is freakin' huge!
they had a drive through there. you could pull up, pop the trunk and pay for your beer at the window. some dude would put your beer in the trunk and you'd drive away. it was awesome especially since they had some of the most incredible concerts there at the park. i've seen lolapalooza and a few edge fests there.
think about it. lolapalooza and a drive through beer store? come on. how much sweeter does it get? 40,000 people sweeter.

I grew up and lived right by there when it happened. It was the biggest grow op bust ever. I think they had like something million plants or something like that.

But yeah, it was crazy. It actually took away a lot of the good bud in the streets when it got busted, it was everywhere produced by the molson brewery but nobody knew until it got busted.
