Zell, yeah. And it's freaking irritating. I'm trying to bulk up. I eat 3 eggs every night.. and I am constantly doing push ups (which works much better for me for bulking up than lifting weights)

Haven't weighed myself lately but it's always between 125-135, 5'11". My metabolism is nuts.

Everyone on my paternal grandfather's side were super-thin people, but my dad is like 220-240 I guess and mom is similar.
2005-11-04, 4:49 PM #15
yeah, my parents aren't particularily thin... My dad's about 5'9" and roughly 140-145, and I'm not sure about my mom, but she's about 5'3" - 5'4" and of average weight.

But then, my mom's father is about 6'6" and probably doesn't weigh more than 140.

65kg, 143lbs

Height ~ 5'9 - 5'10

I eat like a horse, I eat c*** and can't for the life of me put any weight on, I do however do quite a bit of sport, mainly rowing & swimming during term time and then windsurfing & swimming non-term time. I'm quite happy with my height/weight/build, the only thing that bugs me is my right arm is noticeably more delevoped than my left...been trying to fix that for years with only mild success.

How are pushups better than weight training? That sounds absurd.

I need to bulk up as well, a stick at ~125lb @ 5'11. My huge issue is diet, I live at home and my mother is an awful cook. I can't keep a job right now so constantly buying healthy food right now would drop my bank down in a matter of weeks. I basically live off bread/pasta/carbs/dairy, very defiicient of protein. I figure once I add a protein shake and start taking in FAR more calories that'll get me on the right track. My goal is to gain ~20 pounds over the next year, which is quite ambitious if I am already full grown (though I don't think I am).
2005-11-04, 6:45 PM #32
I don't really know how much I weigh right now. I had dropped 10 lbs from 255 to 245 this summer, and I know I've lost some more weight since then, but I don't have a scale in my apartment.

And I'm 6'2".

I don't know exactly... Just have noticed that somehow when I do pushups (usually sets of 20 - 30, 4 or 5 times a day) my body responds a lot more readily then when I lift weights. I was on a weight lifting schedule where I went to the gym nearly every day, and I didn't see any noticible effect. Then I stopped weight training and started randomly doing pushups. I started with sets of 10 and have worked my way up, and I'm noticing my arms and chest getting much bigger.

Let's see:
5' 10-11" ish
145lbs.

I've got plenty of (mostly undefined) muscle, but all of my fat drops down right to my belly. I've got to find a way to bulk up my chest so my torso is even. :p
