I've always kind of wondered this: why is snopes considered to be correct everytime? How come no one considers them to be ever wrong?

ummm... because they research thease things. look at employee[sp?] lists, wether or not a certain person exists, look through newspaper articles, and sometimes it is mere facts that are used.

Temperamental, I'm curious about the evidence you used to come to that conclusion? Can you show it to me please.

P.S. Everything saberopus says is spot on. Always is. Always will be. If you ever want to know what I think about something, consult saberopus' posts.

As soon as those power, fear, and moral standards are taken out of the equations, it won't be tantilizing to perverts anymore. It won't be a power status for a partner anymore. It won't be a sacrifice for your partner, either.

If only more people would think this way, the world would surely be a better place.

I think it's bad news.. it just seems like the perfect way for a bitter girl to get back at an ex-boy friend.

Girl : Lets have make up sex

Guy: Sounds great (even if he don't want to make up, who would pass up sex)

(Girl decietfully puts penis clamp in)

Guy: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Girl: AH HA!!!! That will teach you! Now, not only is your penis RUINED, but now you have to goto the doctor to get it removed, and be arrested for "Rape" !! haha..

- just because someone has one of these things attached to them does not mean that they raped someone. It seems to me that with these devices, ANY WOMAN can get ANY man that sleeps with her convicted of rape...

you guys do realise that this will be the exact sort of thing that lawyers for the defendant will jump on. they will say that it just prooves the woman had the device inserted, rape cannot be prooven from a simpile device.

The idea is to prevent rape, not proove rape.

As to the vindictive ***** argument here, I doubt it would be a problem. Enough goes on before the actual sex happens that some sort of inserted device would be discovered, assuming it's completely hidden iniside the vagine in the first palce.

I think what's being forgotten here is that this device is from S.Africa. In places like Johannesburg and Pretoria in particular, I can imagine quite a few women would wear these things while travelling anywhere despite any discomfort. It's just a totally different atmosphere and culture; violence, murder and rape is just part of a rising statistic.

Very few women in the western world are going to have quite such a real fear and I doubt it'd catch on. However if it did catch on and was abused, frankly I view it as being the equivalent of raping a man. It violates him, it can render him impotent, it destroys all the trust and if you do render him impotent it's going to cause all sorts of psychological trauma. I suspect that other than the fear of being pregnant, most of the pain and fears would be very similar.

Not exactly. Did you see where it said that hospitals would be required to notify the police if a man came in with one of these attached to him? Obviously it's not definitive proof, but it's definitely meant to be used as evidence.

Recusant makes a good point about the environment this device is being sold in. By police estimates, a woman is raped in South Africa every 36 seconds. The level of violence against women that would justify the use of something like this just doesn't exist in America.
