Wait...it's out? That means people will be at the movies tomorrow. :( People that go and see big movies like this within the first week always leave so much popcorn and napkins everywhere. :gbk:

It was awesome. Jack Black actually did a really good job. Out of the entire movie the only scene I didn't buy the special effects in was the scene where the dinosaurs stampeded. It looked a bit too fake and bluescreened to me. Other then that WOW. It's amazing how Jackson made Lord of the Rings and then King Kong. Two TOTALLY different movies, but two equally amazing movies.

If it is a good movie, why worry if it is "too long"?

I saw it tonight with a few of my friends. It was pretty good, but I have a few problems with it. There were some spots between their departure and when Kong first appears that were really awkward. It would randomly jump into this stupid slow-mo and there'd be weird screamy noises and it was just pointless. Also, a lot of things that were introduced in the beginning never really resolved, and the characters involved just disappeared when they came back to New York. And the length really was a problem. It seemed that every scene with Ann and Kong was just a *tad* too long, and several of the action scenes carried on a bit too far as well.

Other than that, it was just peachy.

I say 3 stars.

Because it could be even better if it was more succinct.

Well with 70+ year-old stories that have been remade countless times, I bet the odds of spoiling the movie for someone are slim.

I read in a review, that the movie was more or less intended for people who already know the story.

Well... I haven't seen either. But still I'm going to see it to see Kong fight dinosaurs, not for the story.

Well you won't be disappointed!

In the trailer, you see Kong facing a T-Rex.

That's misleading.

Has anyone here seen the sequel to King Kong? It came out in the 70's or 80's I think. They revive him and there's a she kong. Kinda lame BUT ATLEAST KONG ISN'T DEAD!
