Its still a new version. You can't just expect everyone to know every damn old story that exists, even if its a popular one. Most people I know IRL don't know the story, and are looking forward to it.

Its like telling Vader is Luke's father to someone who's watching SW for the first time even after 30 years. Its gonna ruin the movie for him.

THere was no need to go :

It's a new version...with the same story. And I found it fairly comical. Hell, I've never seen King Kong but seriously...how could you not know he dies?

I didn't know he died, but it didn't bother me that the thread spoils it. The fact that he dies isn't the point of the movie.
2005-12-15, 1:48 PM #47
I didn't know he died.

But unfortunately I am going to once again be bombarded with countless 'You look like that guy in King Kong, yeah, the one with the big nose.' Then girls will use that as an excuse for it to be okay to flirt with the cute bizarre kid and I shall have no peace.
2005-12-15, 1:49 PM #48
His nose is so crooked, it bothered me.

But Naomi Watts is effing gorgeous in this movie.
2005-12-15, 2:04 PM #49
Pfft, Jack Black stole the show... Yay for him being awesome and a serious actor.

Worst movie ever.

The only good movie Peter Jackson has ever made was Fellowship of the Ring. Everything else has sucked. This sucked. Hard.

Jack Black ruined it. Honestly. I've heard other people raving about this movie, and i had high hopes. I'm beginning to wonder if I actually saw the same movie.

Honestly. It was so formulaic. It was just a matter of taking big animals and making them freaking massive and have them fight each other. There was so many ridiculuous cuts and ridiculous plot loopholes. Where the hell did the villagers go to? They literally vanished. The acting was just terrible, and some of the lines were just retarded.

"It was beauty killed the beast" could be one of the worst last-liners ever, delivered terribly.

This movie was laughable.

agreed, except for maybe the first and second lines, and about how Jack Black ruined it (the movie sucked, but it wasn't his fault... not entirely, anyway). finally, someone else who thought the movie was crap. it's getting good reviews though, so i think we're in the minority :-P.

Originally, Jackson inteded for the woman who played Ann in the original to deliver the last line, but she died during negotiations.

Yes, delivered terribly as to make it one of the worst one-liners ever.

I sure under that assumption most people tend to like good music and watch good televlsion?

Nope. That's not true.

I thought that Robert Armstrong saidthe line really well in the 1933 version of the movie. Anyone agree?

lol opinions.

Anyways, I think some people on this board are just bitter little children who would find ANYTHING in a movie to pick apart. It was fun, entertaining, but a bit lengthy. Good movie all around IMO.

no, you don't; disliking a movie is fine, and a matter of opinion

but going into a thread about praising a movie that a lot of people like, and calling it the 'worst movie ever', is rather uncalled for, I would say.
