Let's assume the 360 isn't out yet, and the 360, PS3, and Wii are all staged to launch on the same day (not gonna happen, I know). Which would you stand in line for to buy?

Translation: Which console are you most hyped over?
I had a blog. It sucked.

If I get one, it'll be a PS3.

Wii!

Or... um... maybe just a PC!

Either way... ii!!
2006-05-10, 3:16 PM #7
PS3.

Although I certainly wouldn't mind a Wii either, I'd prefer the Playstation. The 360 on the other hand, both it and it's predecessor can die in a hole.
nope.
2006-05-10, 3:16 PM #8
I'm somewhat slanted towards the PS3, considering I'm a PS fanboy, but they failed me last generation.

I'll be in college for the next 4 years, though, so I'm not really expecting to get ahold of any of them any time soon. Not to mention, my PC will, within the next few months, be far superior to any of the consoles.

Just for Halo 3 :gbk:

Microsoft *******s making it only for 360....

Odds are PS3. But I'm so cheap, so more likely none.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Wii because the controller actually means that in a FPS you depend on skill, not ability to turn the cursor. Your aim in real life counts for once, which will be awesome especially with the online features. The new Duck-shoot game looks amazing too.

Xbox 360 and PS3 are just repeats of genres that have been more than covered, the Wii actually introduces something new for me and I like what I see.
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

Wii, no question about it.

I buy consoles for only two reasons: Metroid and Zelda.
I've been in love with those franchises since before I knew how to pronounce my own name :)

Wii because I'm praying to God that it gets a Star Wars game where I can use a lightsaber with the controller.

How did it "fail you"?

And your PC won't be "far superior" to any consoles. Except the Wii. The 360 and the PS3 are both ahead of the technological spectrum, and previous experience has shown how much better consoles do for games than regular PCs.

Everything takes skill. FPS' on consoles takes skill, FPS' with mice takes skill, FPS with light guns takes skill. It's not about skill, it's about what kind of skill.

I'm with Yoshi.

And like I stated before, that system makes FPS much less fun for people with bad Hand-eye coordination.
nope.
2006-05-10, 3:31 PM #16
But there's really no difference if the game has a crosshair. In which case, it would be basically the same as using a mouse.

I count 5 total games that I enjoyed on the PS2. Everything else I love is on the GCN, and the other 3 are on the Xbox. GCN had about 20 of the games I <3.

Of which the PS2 has plenty. Seriously, I don't care who you are, you'll find at least 20 games you like on the PS2. Part of the upside of having a MASSIVE library.

I might buy a Wii, but the games on the other systems are better, in my opinion. Also, the name "wii" reminds me of urine. That sort of puts me off a little.

I'm more excited about the Wii than anything else.

Especially excited about the undeniable awesome that Red STEEL has so far shown itself to be.

If you actually read my post, you'd realize personal preference is negligible--the PS2 has literally everything under the sun as far as game genres go, ranging from good to bad.

I can't name all 20 you'd like, but I can name 20 I like, if you want.

Maybe so, but 20 is still too high a number. It's logically impossible to make that kind of conclusion. :P

Dude, the PS2 library is in the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands. I'm also including foreign games.

Is that the one for the Wee? If so, it's a cool idea but for me, the atmosphere would be ruined if, holding the controller, my arm was in the way of the screen. That issue doesn't seem to have been addressed, probably because I am dumb

Anyway I am most hyped for whichever console is going to have GTA on it probably (360, I think)
2006-05-10, 4:24 PM #33
Dude..

When you're aiming a gun, a real fun. Part of it blocks your vision.

You know that, right?

Yes. I'm saying it would look stupid to have a plastic controller in front of me, and then another gun or sword or salad fork or whatever on the screen.
2006-05-10, 4:28 PM #36
They have a shell for the wiimote that is shaped like a gun.

I think you're missing the point here Rob. He's talking about the gun in the game...on the screen...blocking his vision as well as the gun he points at the screen.

Uh, Red Steel will be on the Wii....it was part of their demonstration...

Edit: nevermind, thought you were answering his first question.
