...If you could only buy one console, what would it be. Or if you crazy 'PC only' people HAD to buy one, what would it be? (Even if you already own a X-Box 360, vote as if you own nothing)

although the 360 still has some games on it (halo and gears of war) that look worth the purchase.

plus looking at how the PS3 is going, the 360 "looks" to be able to do everything the PS3 can do or will do for nearly half the price.

Should add a combination to the poll, 360 and Wii (considering together they look to cost the same as a PS3)
People of our generation should not be subjected to mornings.

You do know that's out for PC as well, right?

The unfortunate thing about the 360 is that if you have a decent PC, there's really no reason to get it except Halo 3. None that I can tell at least.

Getting a Wii

While the PS3 in reality is an INCREDIBLE value at $600 dollars, and we are lucky it's that "cheap", I still don't want to pay 600 bucks for it.

Wii. Even if my brother didn't plan on getting a PS3 for himself, I'd be getting a Wii. Originally I was looking towards a 360, but I've been pretty impressed by Nintendo lately.

I don't understand how people can sincerely look at Sony's E3 presentation, with games that visually don't offer anything terribly exciting over the 2nd batch of Xbox 360 games like Gears of War, with a $600 price-tag, no concrete details on their online plans and other aspects of the console, and a lack of playable software in general and only a few exclusives up their sleeve, and honestly think Sony is doing a good job with the PS3. It blows the mind.

Sony's doing an excellent job. The "few exclusives" they have (and they have quite a bit more than a few) are excellent, time tested excellent titles. Metal Gear Solid 4? Gran Turismo 5? Final Fantasy 13? I'd pay 600 dollars just to play those titles alone. Not to mention titles like Warhawk, UT2k7 (which, as I understand, will be fairly different for PS3 and for PC), Gears of War (yeah, it comes out on the PS3 too.) and the massive amounts of developer support they'll get for having the easiest console to develop for.

Not to mention a blu-ray player and a HTPC with an upgradable HDD.

IBM created a compiler that does the multithreading for the Cell processor. The 360 still has to be manually multithreaded, and the Revolution...well it's obvious why that one won't be so easy to dev for (at least for games that make extensive use of the revmote).
