Hot lesbians seem to be the ultimate paradox. Two women who I have absolutely no chance with and yet, I can't help but be fascinated and imagine the possibilities.

Are you seriously suggesting that all women are bisexual or lesbian? You're completely delusional.

It's strange, but true. Most girls can dig girls. And they're a hell of a lot more interested in experimenting with someone of the same sex than the average guy. At least, that goes for the vast majority of girls I know and hang out with.

I predict this conversation will take a turn for the worst... besides, you have to admit that the little padlock is cute.

That's true. It's actually been proven, statistically that women are something like 75% more likely to experiment with homosexuality in college than men.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

That's because it's men who get them hammered and encourage them to do so in the guy's presence.

Never let any woman tell you what all women are like. They're all different, and they all think everyone else is like them.

and he made a scale from 1-6 ... 1 being totally hetero. 6 being all homo.

Geez, Michael, who do you think you are to go and post something insighful! I quite like that comment, applies to everyone I think (yes I'm aware of the irony).

But back to lesbians. An interesting though occurred to me earlier. Why are lesbian women (real ones, not the ones I imagine) generally unattractive, to men at least, but gay guys are usually good looking?

Also is there a male equivalent of the term lesbian that isn't derogatory?

These are thoughts that plague me.

Because the ugly guys make fun of the guys who look better than them. Somehow that turns into homosexuality. Then you have everyone else.

Americans like sex. There was this one culture I read about in Herodotus that didn't like sex. Or they thought it was dirty or something, and they washed they selves like crazy afterwards. And there was another that made a law that every woman had to be a prostitute at least once. Some religious thing. Weird. I tihnk it's over-hyped. Wouldn't it be interesting if people reproduced asexually?

More from Kinsey...

Homosexuality

Kinsey said in both the Male and Female volumes that it was impossible to determine the number of persons who are "homosexual" or "heterosexual". It was only possible to determine behavior at any given time. (See Kinsey's Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale.)

Instances of at least one same-sex experience to orgasm:

* 37% of males
* 13% of females, (p. 650, Male, p. 475, Female)

Males:

* 10% of males in the sample were predominantly homosexual between the ages of 16 and 55
* 8% of males were exlusively homosexual for at least three years between the ages of 16 and 55. (p. 651, Male)
* 4% of white males had been exclusively homosexual after the onset of adolescence up to the time of their interviews, (p. 651, Male).

Females:

* 2 to 6% of females, aged 20-35, were more or less exclusively homosexual in experience/response, (p. 488, Female)
* 1 to 3% of unmarried females aged 20-35 were exclusively homosexual in experience/response, (Table 142, p. 499, and p. 474, Female).
2006-07-21, 9:26 PM #64
Bisexuality

Males:
Kinsey estimated that nearly 46% of the male population had engaged in both heterosexual and homosexual activities, or "reacted to" persons of both sexes, in the course of their adult lives (p. 656, Male). 11.6% of white males (ages 20-35) were given a rating of 3 (about equal heterosexual and homosexual experience/response) on the 7-point Kinsey Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale for this period of their lives (Table 147, p. 651, Male).

Females:
Kinsey found only a very small portion of females with exclusively homosexual histories. He reported that between 6 and 14% of females (ages 20-35) had more than incidental homosexual experience in their histories. (p. 488, Female). 7% of single females (ages 20-35) and 4% of previously married females (ages 20-35) were given a rating of 3 (about equal heterosexual and homosexual experience/response) on the 7-point Kinsey Heterosexual-Homosexual Rating Scale for this period of their lives.(Table 142, p. 499, Female).

Kinsey's Scale went from 0 to 6, not 1 to 6.

One of my friends has a theory that male shallowness is the only thing that encourages people to make themselves beautiful. Generally, men will not sleep with anyone they don't find physically attractive (at least at the time) while women are less picky when it comes to physical appearance. Gay guys are good-looking and better-dressed than straight guys because they have to impress other men. Likewise with straight women and lesbians.

I've seen real good looking lesbians though. However, that was in Sweden.

I might move there.

If I could speak proper swedish, though..

That sounds like a stereotype more than anything else. There's quite a large gay population here in the Bay Area and the vast majority are just average people.

Oh the delicious double standards.

The same people going "Rawr! Lesbian pics plz!" are the first to go "Ugh! Not men!". What's so different about it? >.>;; It's two people of the same gender kissing. The only difference is, no matter who you are, you're not even remotely possibly the sexual interest of one of them.

On top of that I see nothing wrong with gays, I know a gay couple and well, they're just endearing when they're together. You can simply tell they love each other. Which is what makes any genuinely in-love couple endearing to behold.

Why on Earth would you think I'd want to seek the approval of the scientific community?

1. You are completely clueless.
2. DJ Yoshi was right. People on these forums take things way to seriously.

Wait...are you saying gay people are...normal people? Like...like the rest of us? :confused:

Could you provide us with a source for your claim?

I would feel uncomfortable in the presence of gay couples kissing and such. (Moreso men than women, but I guess that's because I'm not gay)

Not even because of what I believe, but because the idea just wierds me out -- I want nothing to do with it.
May the mass times acceleration be with you.
