Gay?
2006-08-06, 8:59 PM #1
What the heck is up with gay anyway? The word it self seems to be a source of unquenchable novelty for early teenagers. What is that!? Our average national IQ is going to be less than 70!

Then there are gay people. Actually there is everybody, and people on both "sides" irritate me regarding the issue. First there are the agressive gay rights/sympathizer people. They're all 'ZOMG gay isn't a choice, why doesn't society accept them, so sad, blah blah, blah." Guess what! If you're uncomfortable with society's reaction to what you do, don't do it! I'm 17 and never had sex! Wanting to do something and doing and actually doing are two very, very different things! Can't handle the consequences, don't do it! Not that hard a concept to grasp.

Second there are you, the "anti-***" people. I for one don't give crap how much gays bother you, being loud and obnoxious does nothing. In fact it does less than nothing. It gives the gay rights/sympathizers an excuse to feel self-righteous, and carry in an equally annoying fashion. Well, I lie, anoying, but not nearly as anoying as you. Shouting and annoying people only proves that a) you have to concept how to argue or persuade, and b) you have no reason to dislike homosexuality other than the fact that you are an angry idiot.

I think homosexuality is wrong. Genetic tendencies don't change that. People have genetic tendencies to do all kind of things. That doesn't change anything. I've not had sex with a girl even though I'm heterosexual. The reason I say it's wrong is because God says it's wrong. If you don't care what I think, fine that's between you and God, and no longer my business. But if that irks you to the point where you have to be all obnoxious about it when I'm not pushing it, save it. It's no use trying to guilt trip me when I don't even have the same moral standards or basis as you. Think!

*When I use the word you I'm not addressing Massasi, I'm addressing the people who I'm talking about. I figured I'd throw that in for the people who's flame throwers have hair triggers.*

So yes. People who are stupid about gay, stop. It's a nuisance to the rest of us.

/rant

Really though, the people that tick me off the most are the teens who think the word gay is funny and use it in every single sentence as generic derogatory remark. So people are stupid.

Now post a rant on something you find annoying about people.

Wrong. You say it's wrong because someone else told you that God said it's wrong. ;)

There was a time where I'd have fallen for that.

But seriously, isn't it funny how the most vocal people are often the people who think about it the least? It's like people have to have fight to fight in order for their lives to have meaning. And then they choose the stupid crap to fight over.

He has a point with genetic tendencies. Humans have the genetic tendancy to kill, but that doesn't mean we do it when someone else takes the last cookie out of the cookie jar.

MBeggar is gay.

I think it's a generally well-accepted fact around here that people are stupid.

That said, I disagree with you about some of your points, but mostly this one: "If you're uncomfortable with society's reaction to what you do, don't do it!" The entire reason that there are those "annoying" gay-rights activists is what you've said right there: society's reaction. There is nothing inherently wrong with homosexuality (disregarding religion), and therefore they have a problem with society's negative reaction to something they want to do and aren't hurting anybody else in doing it.

Something as important to an individual as sexuality, first, is not something the person consciously chooses, and second, is not something to let society choose.

I think, the major problem or major misconception with gay people is, they are not people with a disease that made them that way. They can not be "healed" (like some institutes attempted) because it was a choice that they made, out of curiosity, or some other reason. The truth is, people are not born gay, they make themselves that way. I admit, alot of gay people are gay because of past incidents. But I wonder... if gay people weren't "popular" in some places, would they still be gay?

The bible.

I didn't say that the idea that people are born with homosexual tendancies, it pretty much says so right in the Bible. I said that God says it's still wrong.

And um...

I could be wrong but that's pretty much an admission of fornication, no? Try reading the Bible some time. Formation is wrong too, you know. You have zero ground from which to start going off on gays.

The point of this thread was really: Have opinions, but don't be obnoxious about them especially if you've spent more time shouting them than thinking about them.

I am a virgin as well, yes I admit, but I've fooled around with girl friends, and always had a condom just in case. I am also leaving that type of life and have recently decided to dedicate my life to a higher cause than any other in this world. This descision I made about one week ago when I realized how stupid, foolish and reckless I had wasted the so far little but important part of my life on vanity.

EDIT: I have repented for my past trespasses and have asked for forgiveness. I believe God might have forgiven me, but now it is time for me to live up to my word and promise.

I disagree [with gold's earlier post]. I think being gay is not a choice, but something that comes from how an individual was brought up or past experience, but coming out certainly is a choice.

The "It's a choice" argument has yet to be proven in any way, shape or form.

Personally, I don't think it's a choice. It makes no sense, at all. Then there are the homosexual activities out there in nature, where it would not happen if it was a choice.

You said you were a Christian before... Are you saying that you just recently became a Christian, or what?

Because I mean, Christians sin, but hanging around the girls with the idea that you might have sex really does not evoke the idea of trying at all not to sin, but just the opposite.

I plan to get baptized as a Jehovah's Witness, as I find everything reasonable and not objectionable.

Now, to respond to ring master's post, I realize that its an ultimately a personal descision to choose that sexual tendancy. People might do it because of the rejection of the opposite sex in a general feeling, perhaps the missing of a mascular figure in the life of the person, possibly abuse, or curiosity. There is nothing wrong with loving a man/ like a brother/sister, but going to the extent as too sleeping with him/her and engage in a sexual relationship is condemned. I've had my share of bad past and of familiy members who are and were gay. I've known face to face various gays and lesbians, who always had some sad story to justify their actions. Unfortunately, if one is robbed, that does not make you a robber or a thief, now does it?

Lust... yes. Like I said, all Christians sin, but repentance mean that we try not to. Structuring you life so that you can hang around girls with the idea of possible sex, casts some doubt on a claim of repentance.

I was sort of a Christian, but not baptized, and then I fell to be a sinner, to the point where my own father would not even talk to me, with out calling me a sinner. I had begun smoking a while ago and quit. I do drink now and then, but I don't get drunk. As far as sex goes, it is my belief that a man will always have the instinct to have sex, like an animal does, but we have the ability to control ourselves, no matter how difficult it may prove to be. I have learned that recently and I am glad I learned it on time. God understands us and loves us all, but he hates and condemns what ever sinful actions we might commit. Fortunately, God is forgiving and does not keep resent for those who ask for his forgiveness.

I know many open gays and bisexuals, and they are perfectly happy with their sexuality; none of them have bad tales of anything to back their "choice" of same-sex attraction: it's simply the way they are.

Gold, did you decide to be attracted to women? When you check out a hot female body, is that *** something you said to yourself one day "I like round asses"? I doubt it, and somehow I doubt men who find men attractive enough to have sex with said anything similar to themselves.

P.S. I didn't think your God hated, I thought he loved and forgave. Maybe another reason for me to stear clear of Christianity.
