Hmm, i'd like to try out fro some voice acting, i'll have to try and get some time to record lines (being ina dorm room tends to complicate these things), hopefully i'll ahve some stuff too. I think i'll mostly try for the narrator (i've been told i have a good announcer voice ^_^) but of cource i'll be open for anything as long as i can get those samples up.

Sounds good, but I think you read it far too quickly. For someone who doesn't know the lines, I think they would have missed about half of what you said. No offense.

well, here's my new narrator stuff with my suite-mate's snazzy microphone, in both normal and ultra-narrator* style. i may do a bit later, mostly TLTE's thing, if i can manage a russian accent. i seem to have lost it somehow. Again, though, if you guys want either of these voices as anything else i'd be happy to oblige :)

CoolMatty does have a point - for someone unfamiliar with the lines, it's probably too fast. Even your slower version is a tad quick on parts. Also, it seems you're speaking directly to the mic, which is picking up your breath-stuff -- facing just slightly aside from the mic should eliminate those puffs.

Also Ford -- you could bother sugarless to send the mic that I sent her. She hasn't been using it yet... :ninja:

Yeah, it's still pretty quick. Mine's actually a tad quick too in parts. It's hard to do.

Basically, when you're reading, you want to talk SLOWLY, to the point that it feels like you are talking TOO slow. Oddly enough, when you're done, it'll sound just right.

alright, i'll give the slow read one more try, and then i'll record for a few of the other characters. going to have to do it thursday, though. i'm sorry, but i've got an orgo exam thursday morning and i really need to get some homework done and study for that in the next two days, so recording is just going to help me procrastinate. sorry :(

Hey, don't worry about it, Noble. There's no need to apologize (I'm still way way behind on my script duties :/). I'm glad to have any amount of people on board - as it stands I think we're going to just squeeze in with the right amount of voice actors, although I'm working on the assumptions that Sajn Master/Victor is going to take a role and that we're going to get another female actor.

There are a few things about 'auditioning' that I probably should have mentioned from the start:

1. In my mind, the main criteria for judging the auditions is the quality of the recording. There are currently seven or eight people trying out for seventeen parts - we can't afford to turn people down. Right now how well you act doesn't matter too much, I'm just trying to find out if we've got enough interested people to pull this off.

2. On that note, I was pretty much going to shuffle the cast around anyways. We've had several narrators but no Ares' for example, so we'll probably have to end up using the somebody who tried out for the narrator as Ares. It's not going to be some draconian thing where I assign you to a role and I'm the boss no questions, but stuff is going to have to move around a bit. I'm flexible.

This is really just a survey to see who is interested in performing. I'm not judging anybody on how well or how poorly they can act and on that note it's probably more constructive to hold off on critiquing what people post (although CM's pointers were kind of correct, I'd prefer to reserve that type of criticism for when people are actually reading from the finished script and I'm making you do take after take...)

Basically, if you've posted a good-quality sample you're in (unless there's a surge of popularity for this project and everybody starts trying out.

admittedly that was my "narrator voice" with miniscule british accent, but it gives you an idea of what i sound like.

Everything Tracer said is what I'd say too, with the addition of saying that everyone should really audition for as many parts as you can. Like Tracer said, there's a good chance we'll be shuffling people around and whatnot. It doesn't matter if your voice doesn't sound any different reading the lines or whatnot.

So yeah, keep 'em rollin', people. :)

So I decided to audition for them all (minus Maybechild and Losien), just to show you all that I really want people to audition for as many things as they're willing to do, even if it all sounds the same.

It was fate, I'm sure of it. Well, 'sure' may be overstating it. I'm somewhat leaning toward the slight possibility that it might be fate. Maybe.
