Also, up to 2005 I thought Kyle90 was born in 1990 and I was like "that's a pretty wise 1990'er".

This was before I learnt to read, mind you.

I remember the many iterations of the "What are you listening to right now?" threads that would progressively slow the forums until they died, as they always did.

I remember the release of Drazen Isle, the crapload of TCs, the Massassi Zone Takeover, the crazy rivalry between Massassi and TACC, the day 16 bit textures arrived, when "Obi-Wan" was the game to look forward to, when Spork was the mod to play, when seeing another Oasis level was a common occurance, and more... and more... *sigh*

I vaguely remember some people round here into some really good punk (fairly obscure at the time too). I was mightily impressed.

And...snowballing eh. Yeah, that was so 2002, s'all about tossing the salad these days.

so yeah, i remember the good ole days. i came 2 years too late to be a "true" old-timer, signing up in 2000, but i remember when hellcat was the god of weapon skins, working with extremely low poly models.

i remember when the ISB had at least 2 posts per day.

i remember when i used to do more than lurk and go on a posting spree once a week.

i remember when i cared about things like new levels coming out for jk.

yeah, all that good stuff.

and geb: i miss pengun, too. one of the most unsung of all our ex-ISBers. man was he brilliant.

oh i miss my own story, finding a door, and Highemp's classic Battle for the Nexus.

man great stories, with no edings in sight. :(

speaking of the death of massassi. I came just after the great troll wars of 2002. I tried to register near the eend, but registration was still closed. The message for those that had tried to register came to me in may 2002, and i actualy registered.

what I want to know is, what were the troll wars about. because i doubt that pugler could cause that much strife, even on that older crappy forum system. I would think it would take someone without a life that is totaly pissed off with massassi to cause registration to be taken down (see: ReT.)

yes, but I think the actual release must have put lotsa strain on the site. I remember the release of TDiR, everyone was happy that a TC got released, even if it was buggy.

Caitian Tourist was cool. I talked to him a while ago...He has some thing where he thinks he's a woman trapped in a mans body. I kind of stopped talking to him after I found that out. Not that he really acted that much different, just because it was really weird calling Sam (His name), Sammi. I forget what it's called, but he...err she explained it to me.

Correction was awesome. He left because everyone here is a jerkoff.

Also, seeing Aglar post, reminds me of the time I posted [Harry Potter] + [Sixth Sense Kid] = [Him]. That was old skool.

SAJN_Master, that kid was a total douchebag. Glad he's gone.

Agent_J (JASRCC_Uber00101010101010 or something) posts here once every blue moon, but he isn't gone....I mean I'm his brother, so I kind of know where he is. I remember when he created 'Phat Pimpin? Word.' That was cool.

Yellow_Submarine (PhearTheSpork). I can't remember if I met him on The Limelite or here, either way, he's still around. I talk to him all the time.

There was someone else I used to play DT 7 with all the time. I can't remember his name, but I remember one time having to call time-outs every 5 mins, because I was sick and I kept coughing my arse off.
Think while it's still legal.

Yet, I waited several years before posting in the forums :psyduck:

Yeah. Massassi rocked back then, with pretty cool members. Now it's "meh," with the same members going into fistfights with each other and acting the same way over and over.

And what happened to THRAWN. I haven't heard about him and his mother for awhile now.

Anyway, let's not forget Casperhead's (sp?) idiocy when he tried to harass the TMU team.

I remember when the Cantina Cloud Cartography Pack came out, that was amazing. I was recent to massassi when the 'new JO screenshots!' were just showing up on their own news page, etc, and I was just getting into editing and leveling, and that map pack blew me away :D. Plus, the trailer was delicious.

While I wasn't old enough when I came to massassi to realize the great days (2002 - 2003 ish) had past and the members were leaving. I remember Sine Nomen, Skimpy, hades (I was only in the chat), CookedHaggis among many others. I remember when JKA came out, that was the shiz. I was the first member of the Underground Resistance (aside from that Majin_Scott kid..).

Never let is be said I was never a messed up 9 year old.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Whereas I pioneered the sig "850 Mhz of processing power, and wasting it on Jedi Knight"

This was of course back in a time when 850 Mhz was respectable, and JK was still pretty much alive.

I think I really liked using Jed.

But hated the limitations of the engine. Just never got into anything else, because I didn't like using other editors. I could wrap my mind around Jed. I can't wrap my mind around Valve Hammer..
