Carnage

I saw it yesterday and it freaking rocked. They captured everything so perfectly. The character development of Peter Parker/Spiderman was perfect and the action was great two. It flowed so well. I liked the first one, but this one was a whole lot better

My bet is there are going to be 5 movies, and the last one will be a Harry VS Peter flick. Brings the whole series full circle. Green Goblin was a wierd villain to start with, anyway. Third movie will be Venom/Carnage, fourth will be a grabbag of Rhino/Shocker/Vulture/mysterio/Chamelion.

It'd be interesting to see how well they pull off a Venom, with all the... thingies... you know, the stringie-thingies and the slobbery tongue and everything. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

They can make goblins and cave trolls, they can make fluid animating characters swinging through the city, they can make a very realistic golum character....

with computers, venom is VERY possible.

Venom is a little bit more complicated than cave trolls and characters flying through a city, though, I think. He's alot more... busy. But I guess you're probably right.

You...all saw the movie right? Anyone wondering why Doc Ock (before becoming that) was working with fusion, obviously missed the 3-4 times they mentioned that the fusion generator would create an unlimited power source. How you missed that...no clue. But the goal was stuff like "cheap electricity" and such.

Anyways, I loved the movie especially the fight scenes with Ock. They were really really awesomely done! They also reedited the car-through-the-window sequence from the trailers, so that all the inconsistencies in the shots from the trailers couldn't be seen.

There were a couple things that kinda bugged me though: The Green Goblin equipment all being back in a "proud" looking display. Surely Peter wouldn't of put them back like that after Spider-Man 1, but rather destroyed them?

The way they made it sound in the first one is that Oscorp only had one glider so Norman likely didn't have another. And I doubt he could've built a second so soon....

I have a theory though: Harry started to get hallucinations right? Well...perhaps Norman exposed Harry to Goblin gas while he was sleeping or unconcious. That way Harry could continue the newfound legacy of Norman, and could've unconciousally had a Gobby moment where he retrieved the stuff and put it all back on display.

Did anyone else notice that Harry was wearing the same type of blue shirt/black pants combo that Norman wore after he found out Parker was Spidey? It was during the chair scene in the first one with the Goblin mask on a piece beside the headrest. Harry wore the same outfit I think right before Doc Ock confronted him and to the end of the movie.

I absolutely /loved/ the fight scene where Spidy and Oct were falling down the building, beating the crap out of each other.

I thought a lot of it was kind of corny though... I don't think he can do the emotional scenes very well.. *shrug*

Are you talking about Tobey? He's still better then Keanu Reeves at least. By the way, isn't MJ suppose to be more confident and flirty as opposed to this insecured movie version?

In the comics she was portrayed as a young go getter party animal who never passed up a chance for fun, this was to cover her abusive father and troubled childhood so others would think she is normal.

Then again, in the comics, She knew That parker was Spiderman since the day his uncl was killed when she saw him sneaking out his window to catch the burgular...

With regard to changes with the MJ character in the movie, if I recall, Flash Thompson's girlfriend wasn't MJ, but that Felicia girl who eventually became the Black Cat. I understand the switch in the first movie was necessary for the sake of time saving.

Venom was the reporter Eddy Brock (mentioned as the other Bugle photographer, "Eddy," in the 1st movie). He lost his job indirectly because of Peter, and directly because of Spiderman, and hated him. The symbiot hated Peter because he rejected it, so they fit well.

Carnage was a complete lunatic named Cletus Kassidy(sp?), who was Brock's cellmate in Rikers. after the symbiot was forced off him completely. When the symbiot came back for him it left it's offspring in the cell. That symbiot attached to Cletus, and he bacame Carnage. Venom went on his rampage after spiderman, and spiderman allowed venom to think that he killed him. So he stayed peacefully on a deserted island, until SM needed his help to fight Carnage, who apparently waited a while to escape Rikers and kill people for absolutely no reason (Lunatics are easy to write motivation for).

In maximum Carnage, I believe the sybiot, which was believed to have been sound-shocked off him, was hiding inside him. When they gave him a shot in the Looney Bin (how it could have been his first shot in all those years, I'll never know) it was able to come loose. I don't recall how that one ended.

I never really read the series, I watched the cartoon which didn't follow it perfectly. I had the Carnage graphic novel.

....I just saw it and it was totally lacking in the coolness vibe I get from the X-Men series. For some reason Spidey just doesnt do it for me. Maybe it's because he's a whiney little *****-boy scout character.

The movie suffered from a lack of Superhealing/steel-claw action.

I want to see Spiderman and Daredevil go at it. That would be cool.

I'm pretty sure they went at it in a cartoon or something. Although Spider-man 3 isn't out yet, I bet there will probably be another scene where Kirsten Dunst gets soaking wet again.

Spider-Man and Daredevil probably fought at one point or another in the series, off and on. They aren't hated enemies, though they have had there little squabbles. They are actually very good allies, and each knows the true idenity of the other person under the mask.

Maybe they can do a Spider-Man/Spawn movie. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Of course...assuming they ever get a good Spawn movie out.
