He had, like, an array of the red and blue bricks that they were using to represent 500k and 1m, I'm nearly positive Bond didn't have as much. Oh well, I guess I have to see it again.

Yeah, the movie had a few plot elements that could have been a little more clearly presented. Or maybe they are just encouraging people to ask questions and then have them answered in a second viewing, which the movie is definitely worth.

I really want to watch it again, but it's so incredibly freaking long.

Le Chiffre also knew that Bond had won every other chip on the table (apart from the current difference between his and Bond's stack). He could've simply bullied Le Chiffre out of the game. He knew he had lost.

Did anyone else want to cheer when he layed down his straight flush? I saw the cards on the table and though "OMG Straight flush!".

I saw that too. It was pretty sweet. I was playing hold'em a few months back and had a straight flush, 9 to the king. Shame I was only playing for play money.

I'm not sure it's the money matters when you have a straight flush; it's having a freaking straight flush!

The thing was, the guy I was playing against had hit a big straight and was throwing his money in the pot. If we'd been playing for money, all of his would have been mine.

I predicted that the girl betrayed him as soon as she typed in the account number but even given that, definitely very good.

I was confused for a bit of the film having been a bit rusty on my Bond trivia. Introducing Vesper with "I'm the money." "Certainly worth every Penny. really screwed me up what with both words for currency being in the same dialog and NOT representing a certain character.

Aside from that (which didn't detract AT ALL) this was by far the best Bond movie ever, and I dare say one of the best action / suspense movies I've seen in ages. Totally a winner.

Nobody in my theater laughed at the cleverness of that line :(

Something that bothered me:

LeChiffre get's killed shortly after 'scratching' Bond. We see a bullet lodged in his forehead. Who is the guy with the one-lense sunglasses at the end? Not LeChiffre, I don't think, because he's dead. Why did they make the new guy look similar? His face was different, and he was blonde, but he still was covering the one eye. Who was that guy?

He's a holdover from the book that doesn't really get explained very well in the movie. Originally, LeChiffre worked for an organization called SMERSH, rather than being an independent banker for the world's terrorist organizations. The man with one lens in the book played the part of the clue to James that Vesper was going to betray him. She keeps spotting this man, and is terrified of him. The reason for this is that the man with one lens (and Vesper herself) are Agents for SMERSH, and he is there to kill both Vesper and James for her disobedience.

He's similar to LeChiffre I think especially in the film to give you that, "WTF!?" moment where you think that LeChiffre is still alive.

Arm yourself, because no one else here will save you! The odds will betray you! etc. etc.

Awesome movie, I saw it yesterday. That one guy near the end did kinda bug me, but I think its just because I didn't keep up with the movie well enough. I suppose that I would have to see it again. I swear he popped up in many different subtle places throughout the movie...

And whoever said somebody should see Lucky #Slevin is so right. Awesome movie. Makes your head explode at the end.

Haha yeah. Although if a drink was properly stirred, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Also, while Lucky Number Slevin was good, it wasn't that GREAT. Nowhere near as good as say, The Usual Suspects.

Vodka martinis aren't really that uncommon. The classic martini was made with gin and vermouth. Vodka martinis are pretty much the mainstay these days. You could just say "a martini" and you'd probably be getting a vodka martini.

this is true, but in the books it was just a regular martini. the switch to vodka was a marketing ploy by smirnoff.

'Shaken' means shaken in a tumbler full of ice. It basically means ordering an ice cold drink, the blending has nothing to do with it.

Edit: I do prefer a gin martini to a vodka one. I know most people can't taste it, but to me, vodka has a very distinctive flavor that is not unlike the smell of rotting potatoes. In fact, I think I'm going to make myself a gin martini now.
