Yup, just a jail. Not a pound-you-in-the-*** prison.

If anyone knows what movie that second sentence is from, Kudos to you.

No.

I think driving under the influence is pretty god damned irresponsible. You aren't just putting your life in danger. NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY OR NIGHT YOU ARE DRIVING DUI YOU ARE PUTTING OTHER PEOPLE'S LIVES IN DANGER. THAT MAKES YOU A HORRIBLE PERSON.

Which is why I support stricter laws for DUI. They should have given you a debt to the state to make up for. They can always use more community service. Or make you pay more taxes for 5 years. SOMETHING to benefit society at large because you endanger it.

Did it smell? I have visited a prison in the past, and what has stuck with me most has been the smell. Some mixture of old urine and body odor, but still unforgettable.

I don't think it's a HUGE deal... But he shouldn't have been driving drunk.

Driving drunk is pretty much the stupidest thing you can do while driving.

I'd have to know the whole story before expressing flat out "disgust." But I also wont be rising to defend anyone with a DUI conviction...

yeah well driving drunk is stupid i know... i guess since i got back from iraq i never really cared much about it since i did it on more then one occasion. i would say though i learned my lesson.

it was a bay area where there were like 60 inmates with the bunks lining the walls and in the middle was 3 tables.

lol and my cornhole is still a virgin

as far as drinking and driving goes, i guess it just happens more often around here, the tendenancy to want to party alot since we only get a year before we have to go back makes drinking and driving happen alot. its a sad truth, not an excuse. if you really want to get all bent out of shape about it i can understand but 'disgusted' applies to i think worse charges then mine.
2007-04-22, 8:30 PM #26
Nice to hear buddy.

Do you also get in trouble by the Army because of this?

I can't think of many charges worse than "manslaughter".

And that's what thousands of drunk drivers do every year.

I don't care if you go out and party, or get totally blasted drunk. Hell, I don't even care if you drink yourself to death.

But when you get behind the wheel it's not just you who's risking their life. It's now everyone else you meet on the road. So many people die because of drunk drivers, people who have no reason to be dead other than you were "out having a good time".

Before we left F.t. Bragg, My Battalion had the highest DUI rate in the Army And they had no reservation about letting us know it.
But we were all like "Cool! party on" because it was shortly after receiving this information that our Battalion Commander told us we might be getting called off of Christmas Leave to go to Iraq.

I'm sure plenty of smart people join the Army since they get a free college education out of it (I think?).

At least, back before Afghanistan and Iraq and all that meant that Army people actually had to fight for a bit...

Dumbass.

I get why you were driving Snoop. The prospect of going back there is disheartening as hell huh? That doesn't make it okay, but you've got more weight on your side than some random college *******.
