So there's this new Harry Potter movie coming out...
2007-07-10, 8:06 AM #1
And I have to work tonight. Midnight showing I guess. I hate everyone and everything at this moment. I'm going to be dealing with a bunch of Harry Potter geeks for 7 hours tonight.

I guess the aim of this thread is, post if you're going to be one of the people I despise.

I won't be going to your theatre, so does that mean you still despise me?

Oh no, I don't despise anyone that doesn't live in Columbus, Ohio and will be going to the Arena Grand Theatre.

So I probably won't despise you, but just post if you're seeing a midnight of the movie.

I'm tempted, but not tempted enough to endure the squeals of 8-year-olds. I'll probably see it on Friday.

I work during the day the entire week except Thurs so I don't really have to worry much about the potter kids.

I'm more worried about the audit thats coming for the Burger King in my theatre... Don't want to fail it.

We had an audit for our bar a few weeks ago. Apparently we passed with flying colors.

I haven't seen any of the films, but a friend is going to the midnight showing. She lives in Canada, though, so you won't have to worry about her. I, on the other hand, am worried that she'll go in a costume or something. She's the biggest Harry Potter fangirl I know.

She mentioned in an email to me yesterday that she was excited about "Deathly Hallows" coming out next week. I made the mistake of asking her (out of honest ignorance) what it was. I've never seen so many exclamation marks :P

I hope theres an awesome spoiler for the new book before its released.

Then i can be a dick.

The books are pretty awful, but I can tolerate the movies, I'll probably see it this weekend if I've got nothing going on. (More likely than not)

Didn't even know when the new movie was coming out. I really, *really* enjoy not being a Harry Potter fan. When I tell most people I've never read any of the books or seen any of the movies, they get this weird look of shock on their faces.
2007-07-10, 9:15 AM #13
Yeah I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all either. It's just going to make me insane tonight. And to be honest, this movie looks kinda cool.

I recently saw a picture of the actors who played Ron, Hermine and Harry, and the guy who played Ron was the only one who didn't look like a retard. Ironically.

I have seen the movies thus far but haven't read any of the books. And I have a feeling that won't change. This latest flick... Probably in a few weeks. I'm in no hurry.

I'll probably see it when it comes on video.

Anyway, I've got a question, There's more books out than movies correct?
How many books past this movie?

There's a grand total of 7 books, and the 7th and last comes out in about 10 days. The 7th movie is coming out tonight, but the last two are already scheduled for production. (AKA they're already working on the 6th, which comes out Nov 2008.)

I'm seeing it tonight! WOO!

I too work at a theatre, and I too have to work HP tonight. My shift is 9pm-1am, but I just know it'll be more like 2. Good luck, comrade.

Is it worth dying for?

(This is not a death threat. I just hear that you die when you spoil things for vinny, and for me, or some such).

I'm planning on seeing it Thursday, I haven't read any of the books past the midway point in the Goblet of Fire. That book was too slow for me through the first half, but I saw the movie and thought it was pretty good. I hope Order of the Phoenix is good as well, at some point I may read the rest of the books, though.

You only made it halfway through the best book of the series? Too bad for you. That book kicked *** at the end, far moreso than the movie.

Yeah I heard that from a lot of people, but the first half was rather boring in my opinion.

The Burger King Audit lady was in, apparently it was only a prep thing to make sure we are ready in a few weeks, we impressed her very much... freaking Pizza hut and Baskins does not get any audits... at least not like once a year.

A couple of co-workers ran it off the other night, the projectionist spent all day building the IMAX prints and getting it ready and they ran the 35mm at midnight to make sure it was fine for tonight, only a handful of people knew so there was only like 10+ the projectionist.

The majority of the people who watched it said it kinda sucked, but then they aren't the potter fanboys-girls who will watch it even if it's 2 hours of harry eating dirt.

I'm just Glad I didn't work tonight, every on tonight was schedualed for 2am... ung... I work close on thurs tho and that might suck... Full counts night.

Osha surprise audits us about once a year. :/

I haven't made any plans to see it. They are okay movies, but, eh. I really just don't care. My dad is a huge harry potter fan though, so I have a hunch he might drag me along so he wont be seeing it alone. My mom still thinks it's about teaching children witchcraft. I wonder how my parents stay together
