I was just getting ready to post that I was playing with you, Tracer. Not that you had a clue who I was, but this is still pretty damn cool. :)

We need to set up some forum rounds or something, with the group it shouldn't be too hard.
2007-08-08, 6:21 PM #47
Haha, yeah. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out who you were as I played. :p

Guys, anyone can make an event on the group.

And not just for Steam games. You can do any game.

(That goes for the people that just want to play JK, JO, or JA, I don't care what you want to play)

That server was too crowded, the map too cramped/small and i'm a sniper by trade...granted I could've played sniper as a CT.

Also, invite sent for Glyde.

Seriously, it would be really nice if I knew who half of these random names on the list belonged to without having to consult this thread.

Also, WE NEED A LOGO.

Everyone at Valve extends a big welcome to those of you who joined the Steam Community this week. In just four days, more than 65,000 people created a profile and more than 10,000 groups staked a claim (the largest boasting 1,000 members). Thousands of events, from tournaments to LAN parties, have been scheduled. Needless to say, the Community is thriving.

Your participation is helping us improve the experience and your continued feedback (you are providing feedback, right?) is keeping our design team busy refining and building new features. Stay tuned: tons of new and improved features are on the way.[/quote]

Impressive. And I believe they fixed my BSOD on exit already. Edit: BSOD Still Not Fixed.

Personally, I think that logo would look a thousand times better without the goofy smilie...and the green text centered...but that's just me.

I keep getting invites from [unknown], and I imagine it's multiple -ians. Anyone know why Steam seems so unwilling to let me have friends? :(

Because, if anyone HAS invited me to the group, Steam's not showing me the invites.

Why is the group set up to invite only? Wouldn't this be infinitely easier if people could just join?
2007-08-12, 8:48 AM #72
Because we don't want people like you inviting themselves into our group. (kidding)

Rob put it into much better words...but it doesn't have logs yet...

I don't want everyone and their grandma's kittens in the group. (IE, just Massassians, even the ones I don't like)

Public group + plus CS:S community(full of idiots) = I don't feel like dealing with that

Well make sure to check the community page for Massassi.

I'm sure as we get more members someone might post some events. :/

(If I posted an event for CS:S how many people would show up?)

Well, not me. I'm hoping to go away to the cottage for the rest of the month.

However, I found this pretty funny:

I have to admit that I have never played Counter-Strike. I've always heard how horrible it's community is and stayed away from it. But, if it's so popular on Massassi, I could get into it. How does it compare to Half Life 2 MP or Battlefield games?

It's a tactical shooter, you die really easy, the levels are alot smaller than BF2.

If you don't use teamwork, you will lose.

It's fun with people you know.
2007-08-13, 3:02 PM #80
Yeah. The learning curve is somewhat steep...I basically ran around and died a lot until I figured out the weapons and the maps.

Edit - and the community can suck, but CS is one of the more popular games out there (not counting MMOs), so you're bound to get more jerks.
