Valve released an update today which disables the background map on the main menu and fixes a crash issue when the game starts up. Hopefully this'll fix the problems people've been having.

Also it updates dustbowl, so servers which aren't updated will reject you from joining. The A B C triple capture point map worked though on an old server with new clients.

KOP_Snake: Friend me on steam, I pick random servers, but using the steam community thing, you can join servers your friends are on.

I was talking about the round in 2fort where you were a sniper and I was a scout. You kept standing on the battlements, so every once in a while I'd run up there and kill everything. Which wasn't hard because you were the only one there, and you were dead by the time you realized I was shooting you in the head.

I played Episode 1 yesterday.

It was fun, but it was kinda too short, and the gameplay was sorta annoying. Alex has a severe case of needs to get the **** out of my way.

Alright, this is ****ing aggravating. I can get into the game, but after about 10-15 seconds it freezes up and keeps replaying a random sound over and over again. I have to restart the comp. Any ideas on how to fix it or if this is a common thing?

Setting the -dxlevel 81 under launch options might help with this.

That seems to have helped a bit. I played for about two minutes this time. Anything else I could try to improve this?
