Haha! Why is that offensive? Are you offended that half of the religious paintings that are revered by people actually contain anti-religious motifs, or comments about Jesus being a father/husband/jew? Do the inaccuracies of a particular artist's rendition of the last supper offend you? If it's something you know as untrue, and it's not someone of your own faith doing the blaspheming, why do you care?

Also, and please correct any misinformations in my post, because I don't see anyone trying to explain to me why jesus dying is retribution for our first sin that we didn't even commit, and how him coming back fits into any of it.

My point is that it is very common for people to take offense at such comments. Your post implies that you think it is very uncommon.

Fair enough. I must say, though, that I assumed Massassi was of a slightly more cultured ilk than Islamic fanatics, and that such terrible offense would not be a common reaction in these parts of the internet.

The "I'm offended" card is way overused by religion. I am annoyed by the GIANT sign near my house that says "JESUS IS LORD". But I don't whine about it to people.

I think Rob is playing a wonderful role as Rob here, his character is really coming to life. And this whole reaction to that picture thing is an excellent climax to the performance, well done and bravo obie for delivering!

I don't say "I assumed Massassi was of a slightly more cultured ilk than Islamic fanatics" to suggest Massassi or Sarn are indeed fanatical arsebags, but to show the reason behind my belief that Massassi would not be "terribly offended". Forgive my ambiguity.

He sure doesn't sound Jewish. He rather sounds really Buddhist. Besides, according to some, Jesus was gone for a period of approximately 30 years or so, and he's right on the trading route of the east. He could easily be exposed to the philosophy.

Which brings up the second point, you can do something amazing, you know...be Jewish and Buddhist at the same time!

I can't help but feel like it's a major waste of time to type up responses for massassi, but if you -do- have genuine questions about Christianity I would love to communicate via e-mail. Also, I am kinda a Bible college student, so the vast amount of religious ignorance here (especially concerning the Bible) is incredible. I'm totally up for one on one communication with anyone, though. ;)
