I think I have figured out why guys like porn. (yes, you can skip to the bottom)

Background story:
I was in Blockbuster looking for a movie to rent and watch with my boyfriend. I couldn’t think of anything, that I would want to watch tonight. So we went back to the new release section and started looking through titles. There were a couple of interesting movies, we would have gotten this beach bum comedy if they had any left in DVD, but you know.

So I was looking around at titles, and something caught my eye. It was in the category of “drama” with explicit sexual material. Me, being 18, though ok, so what, a sex seen or too? And besides the plot sounded interesting: A woman moves into town. Gets dirt on prominate people (one a aspiring politician running for office, the other a plastic surgeon) and then she tries to black mail them for money. But somehow the men fight back (I didn’t watch that far, nor did the back tell me). My boyfriend tries to warn me, but we get it anyway.

Yah woops. Well, at least I can cross it off the list of things I want to do before I die. (watch a porn)

So, this left me thinking, why the heck would anyone want to listen and watch such bad acting and scripting, to watch some flimsy sex seens? I got it. And you can correct me if this is wack but:

Real woman take work to get and keep. Normally men chase women, and spend years wooing them and much $ is spent in the process. And after that you get kids and then the woman gets complicated, and, ok, en-e-way. But in the fantasy of the porn, the woman chases the man, (almost) immediately having oodles of sex with him, with almost no re-processions.

Other then NOTHING? Women do it, men do it....oh well. Some people find some Comedy films gross and repulsive, some people love them. Some people find porn films gross and repulsive, some people love them.

Are you kidding me? She just illustrated one way in which women can't understand men(which is the standard, so don't feel bad Elana). She was thinking like a woman when analyzing why men watch porn, not like a man. There are no ulterior motives or because we are lazy or any of that stuff. Very simply, men like sex and watching sex. That's it. That's how simple men are. Whither the women was chasing the men or vice versa(which both happen just as much as the other) doesn't matter. That is the process leading up to the sex. We don't care. We just want to see the sex.

This applies to almost all aspects of life. For example, when receiving a gift, women don't so much care what the gift was but more that thought went into it some how and that they were being thought about. Guys don't care. We just care what the gift is. You just barely picked it up at Wal-mart? So? Works all the same. Guys want the end result.

Same goes for sex. Guys just want to get to the sex and have their climax. They want the end result. But women want the process, also known as foreplay. A guy enjoys porn because it almost always cuts out the foreplay and gets straight to the sex. But women read romance novels because those sex scenes are almost nothing but foreplay.

That went slightly off on a tangent, but there it is. Now(this is to everyone), if you don't assume the exception rule(a few isolated cases are exceptions to any situation) than you are an idiot and I don't want to hear your *****ing about generalizations and stereotypes. If you think I'm wrong, that sure isn't the way to go if you want to disprove me.

Not just their ears. Smell, touch, and taste also can play huge roles. They don't rely on vision for arousal. Where as men, sight is by far the biggest factor in arousal.

There is a very fascinating and comprehensive journal kept by a lady who works at a video rental that has a downstairs porn section. Lots and lots of talk about the clientele and browsing habits and theories about why who goes for what. It's a great read, and rather enlightening i think. It's simple really. Girls are just as obsessed about sex as guys are. The difference is that a man's sex drive is almost purely visual, while what a woman finds arousing can be any form of stimuli - touch, sound, smell, etc - which can't be delivered through a pornographic film.

I think the main thing is that men and women view sex differently. Generally speaking, men don't value it as much as women do. There are, of course, exceptions both ways on this. Meh. I'm right handed.
