Yeah, I don't think I did the first time I moved the shark, but that's what should be happening.

We should put a motorboat in front of Sam.

Therefore people that consistently move Sam can't keep him out of danger that way.

If you're moving the shark, yes. I'm still not sure (if I care) whether distance is added for the shark or if it can just move closer to Sam. I'll just repeat Grismath's line (if he were to take one away from Sam, and I added one).

Sam moves forward by adding a dot. The shark moves by moving a dot. If you only added dots, the shark could never catch up.

But shouldn't the shark really be more like .......^......?

(Fair enough. To make progress identifiable, though, we'll have to stick with mostly additive.

+1 period for anybody moving Sam.
+1 period behind the shark and -1 period in front of the shark for anybody moving the shark.

If by chance the line of periods gets too long, we'll just have something like [50] to represent 50 periods before the string or something, but we'll deal with that if it comes around.

In any case, I think JM moved Sam, so I go again! It'd probably help if people say one way or the other which one they're moving.)
