I saw it last night too at the late show with only about 19 other people in the theater. Not much of a crowd at all.
I thought the musical score was great. It's different from the usual John Williams fare, and I especially liked the music around the monastery place. I'll probably buy the soundtrack (if there is one).
I don't mind the stylized look either. If they tried to make it realistic, we'd all pick it apart anyway on how UN-realistic it was, so I think it was a smart move. The only one I thought looked overly-weird in the stylize form was Palpatine.
The Obi-wan tea time... I thought that was funny. And it wasn't tea time,
he was negotiating a surrender, but really stalling while Anakin shut down the shield generator...
.
Ahsoka... she's not quite as annoying as Mission on KOTOR, but she reminded me of her. Ahsoka is smart and a good fighter (
she took out 3 of those Grievous guard-droids by herself
). But she is supposed to be young. Young enough that when she's introduced, everyone calls her youngling. And she acts it occasionally.
Jabba's son... not what I was expecting. Small and is apparently comedy-relief. While I'm thinking about Hutt's, though, IMO, the worst thing in the movie was Jabba's uncle (or nephew... didn't quite catch that part). The voice acting made me cringe everytime he said something. He looked cool, but his voice... ugh!
I didn't like the introduction voice-over either. It sounded like a newscast, which I think was the goal, but just sounded kinda weird. I didn't mind not having the scrolling yellow text, but the guy's voice was kinda off. If they took that sequence and made it look like some sort of holo-newscast, that would have been better.
Overall, it's not Empire, but it wasn't TPM either. It was pretty much in the middle. There were some times when I wondered what the animators were thinking, but they were few. I was under the impression that the battle droids were going to be overthetop silly, but I laughed at most of their shtick.
Would I see it again? Probably not in theaters, but I'll definitely buy the DVD when it becomes available.
[Edit: Oh yeah, I thought the commander for the republic looked like John Cleese.]
