Who's picking it up tomorrow? I have it pre-ordered on the 360, I figured it was worth the gamble. Even if it's not a great game, I tend to enjoy Star Wars just because.

I don't have any of the systems on which it's available. Even if it were on PC, however, I'd probably still wait for some more opinions or a price drop.

I didn't really care for the way the demo played.

I don't think PC gaming is dead or will die, but I think it'll become a niche, elitist platform. Even more than it already is. It'll end up having the really, really amazing titles made by serious developers. Games like Deus Ex, Grim Fandango or the adventure games of the 1990s.

I'm not, but if you are. Do be aware of the $20 gift card deal at Toys R Us upon purchasing the game.

Based on the demo? I'll probably rent it, but I'm not going to pay 50 or 60 or whatever they're charging for that. Probably wait for it to get cheaper, and see what people have to say about it

I'll rent it, but that's it. Real dissapointment so far. :(

I really wanted to buy it, and I think I'll cave in because of the storyline and because I like the action style a lot, but yea, reviews seem very underwhelming at the moment.

I didn't expect it to live up to the hype, but I wasn't expecting it to bomb from a game design perspective. I just didn't think the usage of powers and overall action wouldn't be for everyone's taste.

Its a shame that they seem to have bombed on actual level design and boss battles.

If I do get it, it'll be for the 360, but I'm waiting for some reviews before I get it.

I'll probably buy it when it's marked down to $20 or I can get it used for that much.
2008-09-15, 8:16 PM #18
I'm not sure why pay full price for it. It'll go into the bargain bin sooner or later.

As soon as I get the money I'm buying it for my PS3.

My bro is buying it tomorrow for his 360. And my GF might get it for the wii. Heh, I should tell my dad to buy it for PS2, and my bro for his DS and PSP :P I'll be able to play the whole set xD

Gamespot has already rated all the versions for this game. The Xbox and PS3 versions were given a score of 7.5 and the rest got a score of 6.0. They said the strong point was its story but the weaknesses were the overall gameplay (gets old fast), poor targeting control for the force powers, poor camera, and short length of 6 to 9 hours.

I'm buying it because I enjoyed the demo. I've got plenty of in-depth, long winded games to trudge through and quite frankly I really enjoyed the simplistic nature of just bashing the crap out of everything. That and I won't have to wait for an agonisingly slow lift whilst being attacked by Zombies...
2008-09-16, 12:10 AM #22
Strongly considering it (for Wii, I don't own either of the other two systems), although I wish I could demo it on the Wii first.

I've gotten the chance to play some on both the 360 and the Wii (though more on the 360).

The 360, not surprisingly, looks far better, which I expected, but I was surprised by how much -- I've seen better stuff on the Gamecube than what the Wii version looked like. As far as gameplay, though, the Wii felt a lot more fun, and while the duel mode isn't "zomg real saber fighting!1" it's still pretty fun. I actually felt that some of the camera work and such for the Wii in singleplayer was more appropriate than in the 360 -- the camera in the saber fights in particular are tighter on the Wii than the 360.

Some of the 360 levels felt a lot like JA to me (take that as you will), and while my friend and I WERE playing it on the hardest difficulty available, some of the parts of the game were designed frustratingly hard (the second boss in particular I still hold to be some of the worse). I think the reviewers might be right, but despite that, the game is pretty hard to put down, and the story is kind of neat. And there are some seriously awesome moments of throwing giant rocks at bad guys and such that I didn't feel were "old."

If I had to chose a version from what I played of both (though I only played the first level of the Wii version and maybe saw/played half of the 360 version), I'd probably get the Wii version, even if it is a lot poorer graphics-wise.

I have to wait a couple of days for release/delivery from Amazon AND THEN I have to wait till I move back into my house in about 2 weeks to play it. (Long story with no punchline, hence not explained)

Did anyone buy it yet? I'm thinking about running out and getting it but...don't know.

My bro just bought it. He seems to be enjoying it, but he just got it :P

He enjoys every game he gets on the first day.

The camera was a little annoying (more so on the PS3 then 360) and the gameplay gets old fast - but what game doesn't!?

Halo 3 gets old fast, Crysis gets old fast, and every other game that's been made after 2000 gets old fast. It's not going to change, so why bring down the rating so much for?

I think it easily scores an 8.5 in my book.

Heh I suppose, but they're asking LEC. That's like talking to a wall :P

Oh and 6 - 8 hours of gameplay is pretty average for almost any game (except for Zelda, MMOs, and Far Cry 2).

I opened TF2 for about 10 minutes and got bored. (No joke.)
Smash bros is the same every time I play it, with better graphics and new characters. yay... (You can't argue with that one - it literally is the same thing.)
Solitaire sucks. That's the kind of game my mom plays. (:P)

Doesn't matter, doesn't stop me from playing any of them (otherwise I wouldn't play games :P)

I might rent it on the wii. So far, it's the only one where it supposably doesn't suck.

through gameplay i'm really enjoying the melding of JA/FPS saber/force use mixed with RPG elements of KOTOR. The only thing thats bothering me is the moving the controls to icons on the screen for allllllllll the finishing moves

3 hours play time in, I'm on Kashyyyk.

For those of you wondering about buying it here are my opinions:
At least 5 times better than what the demo showed us.
The storyline itself is worth buying the game (so far).
It's beautiful, plays beautifully, and it's hard, very hard. (I'm on 3/4 difficulty) Some of you said gameplay was too easy but the demo really isn't the same as the game.
