I thought it was a neat story in itself. But as cannon... a guy who is vastly stronger than Vader and Palpatine who can take down a Star Destroyer and ultimately helps form the Rebellion ... but at the same time, relatively unknown and never mentioned before... seems like throwing a wrench into cogs.

George Lucas was part of the story in FU, and is supposed to be 100% cannon. It's almost like Episode 3.5 if you will.

George Lucas's work isn't canon. George Lucas doesn't really know the first thing about Star Wars anymore. My policy is to plug my ears and pretend all of his bad stuff doesn't exist.

Ya know I actually forgot completely about that movie. /run

Although, I would consider that particlar film (and Pulp Fiction) to be exceptions to the rule when experimentation with how you put your film together actually ends up working. My comment/analogy was more directed to the people that said you revisit the same places repeatedly throughout the game more than two times. It could have been phrased better.

I also distinctly remember a few reviews for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, saying you could easily beat the game in 5 or 6 hours of play time and I got a HELL of a lot more play time out of it than that without messing around. Took me and a friend 10 - 12 hours of playtime to beat on hard, and 15 or so on crushing (one shot you're dead basically). The lesson learned for me at least? I never trust reviews or critics. Movies or video games.

Yeah, I make a basis off reviews but I always make sure to try the game myself before judging it. I ended up liking Haze :P

Not getting it because:

1) Don't really play video games anymore
2) It looked repetitive (force push ++)
3) I heard there was a love story. That turned me off. Seems too sophisticated for adventures of a push whore.
4) Why does the Empire have to get such a bad rap? Can't we fight for them for once? BOBA FETT RULZ

I admit I haven't been at Massassi for a while. It's been a while since I saw a thread of interest. I was amused at your comment about the future of PC gaming as an enjoyment of elitists :)

A few factors . . .

1) My 3-yr. old laptop overheats on AC power; I have to run it on battery at all times :)
2) I'm cheap.
3) I'm too picky with games. I find fault too quickly to try anything. I think I'm expecting Deus Ex + JK + Half-Life or something.
4) I don't know if I would be willing to make time for it anymore. I'm a nerd but I'm not a typical nerd.

Just beat it on both endings. Overall, I'd give it about what they other reviewers gave it at a 7/10.

Replay value is great (in my opinion).

Not enough of the physics engine shown. Why couldn't every level be like the first one where I'm tearing trees apart and throwing rocks at huts and watching wookies fall out of them as it is torn to shreds?

As you get stronger, enemies get stronger, and it's not fun. Constant knock-downs by those ****ing annoying purge troopers, enemies you can't use the force against until you tap them with a lightsaber, enemies you cant kill on that weird mushroom planet with just your lightsaber. God that **** got annoying.

Overall though, I'm glad I bought it. I love just loading up a level and leveling up and blasting people to bits, plus unlocking all of the different lightsabers and crystals is neat.

There is a PS2 version as well, and its currently the new No1 game and I would have bought it but I had bought two other games. And it don't have a great of money until I get paid next week. It looks great and It would be fun and I'd spend all night playing it.... :P

Just hope that either Game or Gamestation in town has it for the PS2 :)

I'm getting the feeling that the Wii version was easier than the other two versions, as the annoyances mentioned related to "harder" enemies didn't really show up when I was playing ... or rather, all the enemies seemed equally susceptible to endless spamming of slash combo + push + lightning combos or pummel/grip + lightsaber impale.

The only level that kept causing death was the Death Star since there are so many ****ing MANY of them and while you're killing some of them there are 290849320 blaster bolts going into your back and steadily draining your life...

I don't know how you can't call what the original creator of the original story does with his stuff canon. Everything created outside his mind (the eu authors, etc) is not canon. Whether you like what he did or not, they are canon. He created it, what chocies he makes or manipulates, as sucky as they may have been, they're still "canon".

Jesus that's a lot of canon's.

A friend of mine who is a manager at gamestop hooked me up with the PSP version for free, so I'll get back to you all on how that is ..or isn't.

I bought the Wii version. I played for exactly three minutes, before ejecting the disc. The Wii version is so completely ugly, it looks like a Nintendo 64 game. The graphics reminded me of Rogue Squadron. I promptly went back to the store and exchanged it for the 360 version, which is very fun and much better looking.

I love the story.

I just watched all the cutscenes of the game with my bro, and I must say, w00t. The only game that had an incredible story since DF and JK (I absolutely LOVED JKs story line. It'll never leave my heart.)

The cutscenes had something about it that it shared with JK that I just couldn't resist. I can't wait to play through the game myself :D

making my way through the PSP version and I have to say I'm actually kind of impressed. The game is pretty fun to play on the psp and they ported it very well. I like how the cutscenes aren't cornball as the usual lucas lot. (ie Jedi Academy) Although I still wish they'd use real actors like in JK, but I do like how I feel as though I'm watching a movie unfold rather then some akwardly placed cinematics. Its good stuff.

I'll probably post again once I've beaten it.

C&C3 has such great live cutscenes. They're actually good.
