I'm tempted to buy a PS3..

The ipod thing was something I read on one of the game sites (don't remember the name, it's been a while). Ipod does have games now too (Ipod commercial where you can tilt the ipod to steer racing vehicles and such, can't remember which Ipod - probably touch), and it's the leader in media, and it looks to me like the PS3 and PSP are trying to compete - albeit not doing well.

I think the IPod started including games because Microsoft already has games support on the Zune

I didn't say your opinions are wrong (although in my opinion, they are!).

XBL costs 10$ here. It's not much, but for me (never getting money, etc.) it's too much.

I didn't buy the fan. The whole Xbox was a christmas gift, that came with the fan lol

As far as running PS1 games on everything, the only thing I can play them on is my PS2 or PS3. I don't run emulators lol

Why not, it's cheaper than buying a stupid memory card (and if necessary an adapter to use it).

You can install regular Linux on the PS3, along with Windows 95 and 98. It's complicated, and pretty useless tbh, but the option is there.

Except you have no GPU acceleration, as I said already. Because of this, it's no better than a $200 e-machine system.

You make it seem as if the PS3 is an utter failure, when it's gaining momentum all the time. Microsoft lost so much money with the 360 issues, and their extended warranty. They're still doing great either way. But really, both companies lost money, PS3 is overpriced and many 360s are defective. Go Wii!

Gaining momentum? You do know that the 360 has actually managed to start outselling the PS3... in JAPAN? The market where 360 tanks, and it's still beating the PS3.

My only question is - do you have a PS3? Did you ever even give it a chance? You seem almost as if you yourself are going based off opinion, saying PSN is a joke. PSN is actually pretty nice. Not as refined as XBL, as I've said, but it's still nice.

It's a joke in comparison to XBL.

Oh yeah, and all of my friends have a PS3, not a 360. The real decision comes down to the games you're interested in, and the console that your friends have :P

I don't know of anyone, friends, relatives, neighbors, who own a PS3. Market penetration backs that up, by the way.

All of my cousins and friends have a PS3 lol :S

The only thing I can think of is the PS3 HDD - it's a laptop drive - easily swappable. That, and user created content is available on PC and PS3 only. Microsoft is giving devs a hard time with this.

But yeah, you're right about PSN. Just played some XBL with my bro (he has a free card again) and it was nice. I heard something about their Japan sales going up, but I wasn't aware of how much.

Either way, I'm still looking forward to Little Big planet, that's going to be a hell of a lot of fun with my friends. And I'm still going to get an Xbox eventually. I like having all the consoles :)

yeah i had this happen when i bought my VGA cable during the time that my HDTV was dead and it wasn't plugged in all the way when i tried to start it... had me worried for a moment

B. All but ...3? of those games are playable on the 360.

actually 7

Uncharted, MGS4, Littlebig planet, upcoming Killzone 2, Folklore, Resistance Fall of Man, Haze funny how he mentions killzone 2 (feb 2009) but not Resistance 2 (next month) and let's face it... Haze isn't really worth mentioning might as well add Lair to your list if you're going to mention Haze.... while at the same time ignoring games like Warhawk and Motorstorm

I was just naming the ones off the top of my head lol

Yeah, Warhawk, Motorstorm, GT5 Prologue, Resistance 2, are some of the ones I missed.

And I liked Haze :P

IMO Sony really screwed up by letting Microsoft get ahold of a lot of their exclusive titles. Nonetheless I think this will be PS3's year. I've loved mine ever since I got it, but then again I got xbox360 too so it doesn't matter to me.

No, the Dreamcast was not born a failure like the Virtual Boy. The Dream failed because people failed it.

Dreamcast failed?

I had it instead of a PS2 and loved it.

But everything on-screen wasn't made up of red laser beams!

/me still has dreamcast.

I had a bunch of homebrew for it too, too bad it's pretty slow for anything major.

Still fondly remeber my lovely Amstrad CPC 6128. That was sooo much fun but I everything had to be loaded on cassette tape, it was a sad day when it died. All the fun :). Hey I was 13 back then, before the days when I discovered JK, the PlayStation, heavy metal and oh mobile phones :)

One of my old pals had a SNES console (lucky sod), they ruled.
Oh also rember the Atari - Space Invaders - aah great fun!

Anybody ever had a play on one of those - my cousins had one...

I remember playing that online RPG at my friends house and thinking it was the coolest thing ever...even though it was kind of lame. But I was like "I'm playing online ... ON A CONSOLE!"

But Soul Calibur beat all.

My first online gaming experience was Duke Nukem 3D at a friends place. God those were the days.

Well, I have a PS3.

My game library includes Resistance, Uncharted: Drake's fortune, GTA IV, and MGS4.

Littlebigplanet will be my next choice.

Possibly dead space later, even though I know it's not ps3 exclusive.

I also have an Xbox360, I just choose to help Sony out so they have money to spend on new exlusive titles :P.

Oh, and God Of War 3!!!

Xzero was right. It's called the Dual Shock because it has two motors.

It was originally called the Dual Analog controller. Dual Shock was the successor to it, after the N64 Rumble Pak.
