For a game so concerned with realism (gun jams, deteriorating weapons, rusting weapons, god knows what else) this is a pretty severe ****up.

maybe the military that he's getting guns for is filled with left handed people and they specialized their weapons for them >.>

because i noticed the casings on other guns come out the left and across your eyesight.

the US Rifle Cal.30 M1903A4 does not exist in a left handed version

but video games having weapons that "wear out" or rust rarely have a proper model for this... guns won't wear out from the use they get put through in a game... YOU HEAR THAT STALKER DEVS?!... takes a while for rust to do any serious damage to a firearm...

but certain game devs need to play less CS and handle more real firearms

It's not *that* realistic. It's just a feature. In a sim, I would complain. This is a shoot-em-up. I think mods will be really helpful with the PC version. Graphics configs to re tune the bloom, and texture mods will greatly improve the graphics. We might need to tweak the weapon degradation system.

Yes, it seems most all game developers are completely inept when it comes to modeling firearms. They never bother to get the orientation correct.

I'm pretty sure Raven Shield did it right.

Haha. This is what happens when you take a bunch of computer geeks who have never fired a gun and tell them to make a game which revolves around shooting. ;)
P.S. Is everybody sure it's not just a weird gun or something?

it's obviously a weird gun... they clearly based on the general shape of the weapon and the design of the stock they were going for a M1903A4 but (not counting the lefty thing) the bolt is a bit off, the scope mount is way off, and he's loading a stripper clip into the bottom of the gun

the MAC10 and the 1911 were also reversed (ejection ports on the wrong side)

Funny how all the weapons in Counter-strike were all flipped the wrong way because the modeler responsible for the weapons is left handed and made all the models left handed. Too bad he was too lazy to make some right handed models they the development team just went "Dude, let's just flip the models along the x-axis, no one will notice!"

I don't see why people care how accurate games are. Last I checked people can't eat shrooms, grow twice their original size, and shoot fireballs from their hands... but Mario kicks ***.

Why is it that enemies still stay in the same place when their pal has just been shot in the face by a sniper. Making them take cover doesn't seem like rocket science to me.

Maybe its terror. I mean if your not a trained soldier having the guy next to you's face dissapear would be shocking.

This game is huge! I've just finish the tutorial section. I can't wait to really get into it. It seems like GTA set in Africa. The graphics engine is also very efficient. I need a new CPU though. :(

I would agree it would basically be GTA: Africa if it weren't for how dead the world is compared to GTA. This is basically playing an MMO and no one else is on the server.

Also, why am I in Africa? I know it's to kill Jackal, but why? Who sent me? What are the real differences between the two main factions? Shouldn't the fact that there are two factions mean something more? Why do they keep reusing the same basic missions over and over?(again, like an MMO, you get lots of "go get X item" and "go kill X dude" missions)

I expected the game to be a bit overhyped, but this is just a steaming pile of crap. It has very little substance and it can't even fill the vacuum with awesome gunplay action.

You have to let it play out so you can get into the different environments. The really annoying thing is all the MG jeeps on the roads. I think that would fix a lot of things. I'm still pretty early in the game, but there does need to be some longer missions. I don't want to play through the whole thing if it's just, "Go all the way across the map to kill three guys."

BTW, the missions from the gun dealer is always blowing up a convoy. Don't go to him if you want cool missions.

I'm not talking about just the dealer. I've probably had three missions in a row that were basic item retrieval missions. Five if you count the two from one of my buddies.

Also, the beautiful environment does not make up for the total lack of substantial story and/or mindless killing. You can't even go on a pointless killing spree because the world is so empty and the lengths between pre-determined bad guy spawns.

Basically, Far Cry 2 is that really hot chick that is only good for looking at because she's horrible in the sack and makes you want to stab yourself in the ear whenever she opens her mouth.

I thought there were too many bad guy spawns. I would have preferred fewer and larger spawns. of course I haven't even been to the second half of the game world.
