Weed in the house.

I agree with both of them. Don't flush the drugs, instead take them, use them, and join the party.

Don't ride your bike DRUNK. It hurts. You fall down a lot.
Michael Phelps is getting "bad" media because someone snagged a pic of him ripping a bong.

Holy crap a *kid* with ADD, smoking? :P NO WAY.
I think it's funny how everyone is portraying this as bad. Because they all go on about how it screws up your life. Like, screw up, win 8 gold medals, screw up.

Yeah so I put my foot down and was pretty harsh, they're not smoking inside again anytime soon. Heh heh heh.
Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.

They're just going to do it when you're not around now.

They're also probably going to call you a douchebag behind your back and fart on your pillow.

Yeah, I would.

3 against 1. Sooner or later they're going to win. And it may not be pretty if you keep acting like an idiot.

Why is he an idiot? Because he doesn't like Marijuana? Because he, as a legitimate owner of the house with his name on the lease (IF that's the case) has a legal right to do as he wishes and in this case, as he has chosen to do? Because his opinion and belief system differs from yours?

I'm just trying to figure out the logic behind how he is an idiot. I don't see :downswords::downswords::downswords::downswords: everywhere.
2009-02-02, 12:27 PM #95
He's an idiot for moving in with a bunch of smokers, knowing they're smokers, and knowing he doesn't like smoke.

It would be like onimusha. moving into an all-black neighborhood, knowing he doesn't like black people, and then complaining about all his black neighbors.
2009-02-02, 1:01 PM #96
Sort of...I mean...no one is forcing these guys to smoke. It's not like they were born smoking weed. Likewise, the black people in your analogy would not have said upon agreeing to live in the same neighborhood as the black-hating onimusha "don't worry, we'll only be black in our houses so you can't see us! We promise not to ever be black out in our yards, and certainly not while visiting you. We promise not to be black." and then GOL DARNIT if they didn't stay black wherever they went! THOSE HALF TRUTHIN' SUMS A *****ES!

IE; it's incredibly dumb to move into a house with three smokers then be pissed about it.
2009-02-02, 1:19 PM #100
The whole problem is that he trusted them and they betrayed him. He was dumb to trust them, because they're *******s (in this particular social theater). We can agree on that.

Actually, I really think he has no right to complain at all and needs to move because he has no right to *****.

I say he does. They said they wouldn't smoke inside, then they start doing it. That's a perfectly good reason to *****.

Totally agreed.
As I said before a smart smoker (no that's not an oxymoron) smokes outside anyway, so as not to stink up the place. ESPECIALLY pot.

He's an idiot for being such a ***** about all this. Seriously, if his biggest problem in life is having a bit of a stinky house, then he has a pretty sweet life. Don't piss away good times *****ing about little things.

Your point seems to be that weed (or smoking in general, whichever) isn't a big deal and so it's silly to complain about it.

My point is that it doesn't matter to me WHAT it is. It could be smoking weed in the house when they said they wouldn't, it could be leaving dirty dishes out when they said they wouldn't, and it could be shooting up heroin and banging hookers when they said they wouldn't. MY problem is that they said they wouldn't, and they did.

I, for example, have signed a lease here at my apartment complex for the next year and a half. I'm stuck here. If the roommates I moved in with started doing something we agreed would not be done, I'D BE STUCK WITH IT until the lease runs out, or it would cost me. Whether I was dumb to trust them or not is not the issue. They lied, and they betrayed, EVEN if it is about something small. And that is the point at which I take issue.

Not to compare rape to smoking weed, but surely you can see how saying "he was asking for it" doesn't make it okay, right?

[Edit: As I mentioned at the beginning of the thread, I should make it clear that I am a dick. What that means to me is that I don't put up with bull****, on principle.]

My girlfriend and I live in a similar house. There are 7 rooms. We smoke weed pretty much every day in her room with the window open (most of the time). We mostly smoke out of bongs. Smell is contained to her room, sometimes the hall just around her room smells a bit depending on the situation (window and door open, or something). It usually isn't too bad, though.

Nobody in her house cares, so it's nice to not have to worry about.

Moral of the story: Smoke some weed.

Hey, Michael Phelps smokes weed and he has won 14 gold medals. Truly, this naturally found plant is EVIL and we should do everything in our power to keep it away.

It's great when they try to pin marijuana on athletes as a "performance-enhancing drug."

Because rockstars are rebels, sportstars are heros.
Also, in some sports (albeit very few) it helps.

Depends on the sport.
I remember an interview with an archer, where she (or he?) explained how it gives an unfair advantage by helping you keep steady or something.

I laugh too. I think Robin Williams did a small bit about that specific joke in his "Live on Broadway" special. Something along the lines of "The only way Marijuana is a performance enhancing drug, is if there's a huge ****ing Hershey's bar at the bottom of the hill" (in reference to Ross Regliati (sp?), the Canadian snowboarder caught smoking Pot).

Anyone else find it kind of odd how a few years ago, when the Canadian snowboarder, that only won ONE gold medal for downhill snowboarding was stripped of his medal because he tested positive for Marijuana? Yet, Michael Phelps, an American that beat every single competitor in MORE than ONE event, (14? 16?) still has possession of each and every medal.

Smoking, weed or otherwise, can cause thousands of dollars of damage to a house, not to mention be extremely annoying. You'd be ticked if they set up a rendering plant behind your house, and I don't think you feel any better if a plant worker told you to stop whining because it was no big deal. Just because you are used to a small doesn't mean others are, or that it is no big deal.

And perspective is arbitrary. Just because you aren't working yourself to death in some Asian electronics dump, doesn't mean that you should just zone out.
