Chris Brown/Rihanna

I don't know if I missed a thread, but has no one talked about this?

Latest news is that a photo of her was leaked by someone in the LA police department. Naturally, the tabloids have shamelessly plastered this picture on the internet, which kind of ticks me off. On the one hand, leave the girl alone. She's already been through enough. On the other hand, maybe the brutality of the image will light a fire in the public and Chris Brown will be ruined (as he should be).

Post your thoughts. (Out of respect for Rihanna, I'm not posting the picture or a link. Find it on Google if you're curious.)
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Its probably because no one cares. Two millionaires who beat each other up, nothing new.

Although, her with a missing tooth is a bit suprising. Maybe that'll stop her godawful recycled songs from playing on the radio every 2 minutes now. Probably not, but its wishful thinking.

1) Those pictures are all fake. The real one just went up last night, and is definitely not a photoshop, because the LAPD released a statement about it.

2) It wasn't "two millionaires getting in a fight." Chris Brown beat the hell out of her over a text message or some ****.

I honestly had no idea who either of them were before this happened.

Aside from the fact that some chick got her *** kicked, I don't care. The guy should be punished with a man train on him.
2009-02-20, 9:58 AM #5
What?

Who?

Why would a forum of star wars nerds care?
nope.
2009-02-20, 10:19 AM #6
Obviously I hope Chris gets his *** kicked, but what really gets me is all the people calling it the end of a storybook romance. Are you kidding? How old are they? Calling anyone in Hollywood a "storybook romance" is stretching the truth to the limits, but two 19/20 year olds?

I thought about posting about it but came to the conclusion that I don't have much to add to the conversation and that Massassi probably wouldn't care.

Why did you post this crap, isn't it enough seeing it on the news every 10 ****ing minutes?

Maybe she accidentally hit her face in his fists.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Uhh no I didn't say that. I asked what everyone's thoughts were.

Anyway, regardless of whether or not you care for her music (I don't really either) how can you guys be so callous as to not care that this guy beat the hell out of a girl and there's a fairly good chance he'll get away with it and no one will care in a few years. And if you don't think that will happen, take a look at Kobe Bryant.

I'm mad that a guy beat the piss out of a chick. I think that is totally unacceptable. As I said in my first post, someone who does this deserves to get raped over and over.

I had no clue who either of them were before this. "celebrity" or not, I think any male beating a female should be harshly dealt with. Maybe thats just old fashioned, but I can think of few examples of a chick deserving a beat down, and a text message of a guy probably cheating on his women is not one of them.
2009-02-20, 8:14 PM #23
just cause these guys are famous doesn't mean they deserve all the ****ing attention in the world
there are many cases of domestic violence in america and i do not understand why these two should get all the spot light other than because they are famous

I can think of no examples of a woman deserving domestic violence. Nor a man, for that matter.

I don't think it's old fashioned, but the fact that you can't imagine any woman being capable of the same atrocious behavior as a man demonstrates an unhealthy combination of naïveté and lack of imagination.

That's part of the "few" - I have gotten in a lot of fights before. I've gotten my *** kicked just as much as I've kicked ***. I would (and have never hit a women) NEVER hit a women...unless she deserved it. Very few situations allow a female beat down. That's not lack of imagination or naivete (or however you spell it) I'm talking about realistic situations here. Obviously I would murder She-Hitler.

Its ok Jon`C. If you go to the police, she won't be able to hurt you any more.

Hey ... In that post I said I have NEVER hit a women. And in most cases are not ......(Below......"they are not..........."
That being said ... they are not above a beat down.
2009-02-20, 9:43 PM #30
Hey, if a woman comes at you swinging, you are well within your rights to physically defend yourself. But defend yourself is the key there. Usually, once they realize they're not going to win the fight, they'll back off the physical fight tactics - at that point, if you keep hitting, you're horrible in my book.

That's my general rule in any event.

I hit a girl in day care when I was like 6 or 7 and the counselor took me aside and said it wasn't nice to hit girls and the girl just kept giving me a nasty look and then when the counselor lft I returned the nasty look and we walked away from each other

Around the same time I was in kiddy TKD and I was sparring this girl that was like a foot and a half taller than me and probably 7-10 years older than me and I was going all out and she knocked me down and I got really pissed off and then the instructor came over and told me you cant hit a girl like that

Most recently I rolled w/ a girl in BJJ and she was a blue belt and I lost pretty badly and thn she went easy on me and I beat her once and then she was like hell no and then quickly tapped me again.

that last part is def gonna get taken out of context

So if a woman came at you with a baseball bat you would just take it? :suicide:

He said he's never hit a woman, said there are very few reasons to do so, and that the girl cheating on you isn't one of them.

If you say you would never ever hit a woman then you're either a liar or a damn fool.

I'd almost never hit a woman, but if, for instance, she was trying to kill me, then I'm not going to mull over a moral conundrum, I'm going to defend myself. Sure, I'd probably run if I could, same with running from a psycho male. But my options would be flee or fight, not flee or get beaten.
And if I hit her and she still keeps coming up me with a weapon, then I'm going to keep hitting her =p

EDIT: And I totally agree with sugarless' post.

I think if a woman were attacking me, rather than hit her my first reaction would be to throw things at her and my second reaction would be to keep her far enough away from me so i can continue throwing things at her and if she did get too close I guess I'd kick her or something to get her further away again so I could create more distance and throw more things.

Look, I never said that I'd never hit a woman, nor that it's not ok to defend yourself if someone's attacking you.

In three different posts, Squirrel King has used the phrase "beat down". That is, to "to strike violently or forcefully and repeatedly." That doesn't sound like self defense. In fact, in a thread about domestic abuse, it sounds like... domestic abuse. To me it sounded like he was saying, "Oh, well, in this case d.v. wasn't ok, but in other cases sometimes it is."

If someone comes at me with a bat, I'm not going to "give her a beat down." I'm going to fight back, which is not at all the same thing.
2009-02-20, 10:04 PM #37
Yeah... that's you taking a phrase too literally and blowing it out of proportion

And as I said, if she kept on coming at me and wouldn't stop, then yeah... a beat down could be necessary just to get the asterixes to stop.

2009-02-20, 10:14 PM #38
Look, if we agree that abuse is vile, then we agree. We're arguing about issues, not each other.

If I misinterpreted what he was referring to, then so I did. But I don't think that calling out (perceived) condonance of abuse is blowing things out of proportion.
