Dr. Pepper
2009-09-29, 5:43 AM #1
For those of you not located in the southern United States, you are missing out. Coke? Pfft... to painful. Pepsi? Eh, good from time to time. Dr. Pepper, the best!

If there's anyone who hasn't had it, that likes soft drinks, you should at least TRY it.

Post your random/region specific drinks!

Also, for those of you who can find it (Texas is probably the easiest place to get it.), try Dublin Dr.Pepper, made with REAL CANE SUGAR!

Or not.

I live in the Northern United Kingdom, and we can also buy this canned beverage of which you speak.

It's not all that nice really.

Yeah, you can get Dr Pepper everywhere. I don't like it.

I've never seen a store where you couldn't get it, but here in the US there are a lot of restaurants that don't have it (fast food OR sit-down) in certain regions.

It's my soda of choice, so when I go on a trip I always have to ask "Do you have Dr. Pepper?" like a total redneck. It's awesome.

I am drinking it right now.

Yea Dr Pepper is everywhere dude. I'll occasionally order a case of Dublin if I have an extra 15 bucks or whatever to throw at soda.

I'm a pepper.

I live in an arctic wasteland.

It's definitely NOT everywhere, I myself have been to numerous northern areas where it's unavailable. Areas of Idaho didnt have it, I had problems getting it in Ohio, Michigan, and the areas around there. One of my friend's couldn't get it in Boston. However, that was about 4-10 years ago for me. Not sure when he was in Boston.

I love Dr. Pepper, it's fabulous! I don't buy it for home though, I suppose for diet reasons, and can't get it on campus, so I thrive on the anticipation of my next encounter with it's velvety, buttery, creamy, soupy, murky, brackish, malodorous and wretched flavor.

I don't really drink pop alls that much yo.

Anyone who thinks any mainstream soda is actually good has never tasted anything better. Small bottlers like Jones and Boylan's are so, so much better.

I'm more of a Pepsi person...and I really don't drink soda any more. Dr. Pepper is the official drink of our D&D games though!

I'll also throw in my two cents about having seen Dr. Pepper pretty much everywhere I've been. :P

I've been all over ohio and they have it everywhere here.

Christ, they have Kelsey Grammer, Julis Irving, and Dr Dre on their commercials... do you really think that's a regional beverage?

Pepsi FTW. It is my vice of choice. :P

And yeah, I'm not sure that I've been anywhere where I couldn't find Dr. Pepper if I wanted to.

A true regional beverage is Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda, almost impossible to find outside of New York City and some larger supermarkets in New Jersey. The perfect pair for corned beef on rye.

I have been drinking this alot as of recently. It's apple soda. And without the added high-fructose corn syrup nonsense.

It's made in Mexico, but I don't import it myself. I get it at a small deli in Brooklyn who has a good number of drinks imported from places. Reasonably priced.

So there are now two things that I recommend from Mexico: this soda and the lies of SF_Gold.

Actually, I can't stand the taste of Jones. When I lived in Connecticut, I liked Foxon Park, but I dunno how regional a thing that is... ("very" is probably the right answer)

But nowadays I prefer Izze's to basically any kind of soda.

Irn-Bru.

I guess Lucozade as well, since as a general rule whenever I mention it I get "WTFs" from non-Brits.

And I just discovered that Muslims were banned from drinking Lucozade until 2004 because it had minute traces of ethanol in.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I prefer Dr. Pepper to any Jones soda. The mere fact of its status as an independent/non-mainstream beverage doesn't make it better. I bet most people give its flavor 50 bonus points because it's hip and has cool labels -_- -_- -_- .

I can find lucozade in the international section of most larger supermarkets. Irn Bru, sometimes as well.

Dr. Pepper is widely available in Finland as well.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I see Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray sode in alot of Jewish delis in Manhattan. Time to time I drink Dr. Brown's Cherry Soda, but never really gave Cel-Ray a consideration. Hmm

Yeah. I'm pretty sure AoEJedi managed to not find it in a few stores in a few areas and, from that, extrapolated that the entire region didn't have it whatsoever. :carl:

It's celery seed flavored soda. Most people think it's pretty weird. It's something you have to grow up drinking to like.
