I have loads of Space Police, M-Tron, Blacktron and the Ice folk (can't remember the name).

I will post pics in about 12 hours time.

Also, seriously, BEST THREAD EVER.

I can't quite stress that enough, so I'll say it once more:

BEST

THREAD

EVER.

(EDIT: couldn't help myself - I had this one, which was AWESOME)
(EDIT: JUST ONE MORE then I'll get back to work...)

I forgot about the little magnet hands that could pick up boxes. I always had a box or two on my sets that I would fill with those transparent jewels and/or gold pieces.

Wow... I feel like I just stumbled through a time portal into my youth. I used to own all pirate/fantasy themed lego sets and many of the space ones with the green tinted windows, black and red ships.

I suddenly regret growing up.

This is one of the only large LEGO sets we have that's non-Star Wars. It's actually been assembled for the better part of the last 12 years, and only missing a stray antenna or two. I don't know where the book is, maybe that's why we never took it apart.

Ah! Those plates were heat sensitive IIRC. You'd put your thumb over them and the image would change!

Does that B-Wings cockpit really turn like a "Real" B-Wing?
2009-11-17, 1:10 PM #58
Looks like it will - it's mounted on a technic style piece which will allow for a 'peg' fitting.
2009-11-17, 1:41 PM #59
Yes it does. I own it.

Yeah, it was. I used to crash-test all of my models to see how well they were designed, from simple drop tests to frontal impact.

I always liked this one:

I was also a Blacktron fan, but I never got any of their larger sets.

I also had a fair assortment of Castle and Pirate sets. These were the best:

My parents got me a knockoff non-LEGO pirate ship at one point. The pieces wouldn't stick together without glue, and some were missing. I didn't recieve any more knockoffs after that.

Pfft... the original lego space train set was the best. My first real lego set that had more than 20 pieces, and still my favorite of all time.

Also, there is a lot of image leeching going on this thread...

Just got these classics TODAY! Had a blast building them. And I fully admit to flying the ships around complete with swooshing sounds and motor noises as the hatches open and close.

It was worse. Coco Blocks or something, I think. I did have at least one Megablocks set, and at least they stuck together, even if the bricks weren't as high quality.

Anyone else think LEGO is doing too many tie-ins these days?

They do too many huge pieces that require naff all building.
